Disneyland Souvenirs Just Got More Expensive – Here’s How

Disneyland Paris Resort has just increased the price of one of its most affordable souvenirs. While the change might seem small, it’s the latest in a series of price hikes that have raised concerns among guests about the growing cost of their Disney Park visits.

A trip to a Disney park has never been cheap, and whether you’re visiting Disneyland Resort in California or Disneyland Paris Resort in Europe, the costs quickly add up. Theme park tickets, hotel stays, food, Lightning Lanes, and vacation photos – the expenses are a big part of the Disney experience. For families with kids, the costs multiply, especially when your little ones want to take home every souvenir they see.

Although not much about Disney parks can be described as “cheap,” there are still ways to enjoy the magic on a budget. One of the more affordable ways to collect memories from the Disney parks is through pressed pennies and souvenir medallion coins. These pocket-sized souvenirs are a favorite among many Disney fans, with designs often celebrating park milestones and limited-time events.

In the United States, souvenir medallion coins are available in various finishes such as silver, brass, and gold. These are usually priced around $5 per medallion and are much heavier and more durable than the traditional pressed pennies, which typically cost only $1. Medallions are often sold in themed collections, such as those celebrating Disney100 or the anniversaries of Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort. While medallions are pricier than pressed pennies, they’re still considered a relatively affordable way to take home a Disney souvenir.

Disneyland Paris Resort has joined the ranks of parks offering these souvenirs. However, the European Disney Resort has recently raised the price of its Monnaie de Paris coins – inspired by the French mint – from €3 to €3.50 (roughly $3.50 to $4.08). Despite this price increase, Disneyland Paris’ coins are still less expensive than those at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort, where souvenir medallions typically go for around $5 (or about €4.29).
