Walt Disney World Resort has announced a must-know update for guests planning to visit in the fall: the Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Golf will undergo a month-long refurbishment starting next month. Here’s what you need to know about the temporary closure.
Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Golf first opened in 1996, near the Walt Disney World Swan Hotel. The course offers two distinct experiences for guests: the family-friendly Fantasia Gardens and the more challenging Fantasia Fairways. Combined with Walt Disney World Resort’s other miniature golf course, Winter Summerland, more than 450,000 guests visit each year.

Fantasia Gardens features whimsical designs inspired by Fantasia (1940), with famous characters like the dancing hippos and Mickey Mouse’s broomsticks. Fantasia Fairways presents a more traditional golf layout with sand traps, water hazards, and bunkers. While waiting to tee off, guests can admire the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels in the backdrop.
Starting September 9, 2025, the Fantasia Fairways Miniature Golf course will be closed for refurbishment, while the Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf course will remain open. However, guests should note that the Fantasia Gardens course will operate on a first-come, first-served basis during this time, and reservations for tee times will not be available.

Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf will open later than usual, at noon instead of 10:00 a.m., from September 9 to September 23, 2025. After September 24, it will return to its regular operating hours.
Walt Disney World Resort has not yet shared specific details about the refurbishment process or what exactly will be updated. However, the Fantasia Fairways Miniature Golf course will reopen to guests on October 25, 2025.
