Universal Haunted Houses Close Before 9:30 p.m., Leaving Guests Frustrated

Guests visiting Universal Horror Unleashed at Area15 in Las Vegas were met with disappointment after the highly anticipated haunted attraction closed prematurely on Thursday night. Despite an advertised 10 p.m. closing time, reports suggest that three out of the four houses within the 110,000-square-foot self-guided walk-through experience were shut down before 9:30 p.m. In some cases, attractions were closed much earlier, leaving frustrated visitors who had planned to enjoy the full experience searching for answers.

A Haunted Attraction Falls Short of Expectations

Universal Horror Unleashed, which debuted in January 2023, has already become a major draw for thrill-seekers. The self-guided haunt, located within the Area15 entertainment complex in Las Vegas, has captivated audiences with its immersive horror elements and spine-chilling encounters. It’s the second major horror experience from Universal Destinations & Experiences, following the success of Halloween Horror Nights.

However, on Thursday night, the attraction did not meet guest expectations. Several houses reportedly closed much earlier than the scheduled 10 p.m. time, leaving late arrivals particularly disappointed. Some guests, having waited in line, were unable to experience the scares they had eagerly anticipated. As word spread, visitors took to social media to express their frustration with the unexpected early shutdowns.

Guests Demand Answers and Compensation

The premature closures have sparked widespread dissatisfaction among guests, many of whom traveled to Las Vegas specifically for the immersive experience.

Universal Destinations & Experiences, known for its world-class attractions like Halloween Horror Nights, has yet to release an official statement regarding the issue. Visitors are left questioning whether the early closures were an isolated incident or a sign of potential problems moving forward. Many are also wondering if compensation, such as refunds or tickets for a future visit, will be offered to those who were unable to enjoy the full experience.

What’s Next for Universal Horror Unleashed?

While Universal Horror Unleashed continues to be a popular destination for horror fans, the early closures have raised concerns about the attraction’s operations. Fans of Universal’s horror-themed events are eagerly awaiting clarification and hoping that the company will take steps to address the issue and prevent future disruptions.

With Universal’s strong track record in creating high-quality, immersive experiences, there is hope that the attraction will find a solution to ensure a smoother operation moving forward. As the Halloween season continues, visitors are hoping for more consistent operations, where they can fully experience every haunted house until the final bell rings.
