Drinkable Water Disappears From One of Disney World’s Biggest Hotels

Last week, construction workers accidentally broke a waterline at Disney’s Pop Century Resort, one of Walt Disney World Resort’s largest hotels. Guests were shocked to find that the tap water in their rooms was either ice-cold or, worse, brown in color, leaving many to question the safety of the water.

One guest took to Reddit on Thursday to explain that they had encountered brown water coming from the faucet in their hotel room. The guest, who goes by the Reddit handle u/Fickle-Report9826, warned fellow visitors, writing: “Hey, if you are at pop century, check your water, because im at pop century and my water is brown.”

Commenters in the Reddit thread made light of the situation, jokingly renaming the hotel “Poop Century” due to the brown water. However, some Disney Parks fans suggested that the guest escalate the issue by asking for a room change or additional assistance. However, when the guest contacted the front desk for help, their concerns were reportedly dismissed.

“I did,” the Walt Disney World Resort guest explained, responding to those asking if they had spoken with staff. “They just went 🤷‍♂️.”

Later, the guest learned that the water problem had been caused by construction work at Disney’s Pop Century Resort. The construction workers had accidentally cut a waterline, which impacted the water quality in several rooms.

“Update: Hot water does not work anymore, the waterline broke during renovation,” the guest confirmed.

It’s unclear whether the issue was addressed promptly by Disney cast members or whether guests were relocated to different rooms. Walt Disney World Resort did not issue a public statement on the issue, which occurred during a large-scale ongoing construction project in the lobby and several rooms throughout Disney’s Pop Century Resort.
