It’s not just your imagination — Disney World really is offering less for more. The company has quietly eliminated seven major hotel perks at the same time prices are surging across the property.
Fans who have been loyal to the brand for years are calling it out, and many are rethinking their vacation strategies. What used to feel like a truly all-inclusive experience is starting to resemble a standard hotel stay with a premium price tag attached.

When Disney Resorts Meant Something Special
There was a time when booking a Disney hotel felt like buying into something magical. Free airport transportation, convenient shopping perks, and little touches of Disney charm made the cost feel justified. You didn’t just check into a room—you stepped into a world that felt designed to take care of every little detail so you could focus on the fun.
Guests didn’t just stay at a hotel — they were wrapped in a seamless, stress-free vacation bubble. It was what set Disney apart from other destinations. However, that’s no longer the reality, and longtime fans feel the difference immediately.

Rising Costs Across the Board
If you’ve been to Disney lately, you’ve felt the price squeeze. Room rates at moderate and deluxe resorts have climbed into luxury territory. Food and merchandise aren’t far behind. Spirit jerseys, Mickey ears, and even snacks are more expensive. Annual Passes and park tickets have also spiked.
When every corner of your trip costs more, those little “extras” that used to feel like a nice bonus suddenly matter a lot. And when they’re gone, the sting of rising prices hits even harder.
Perks That Have Disappeared

This used to be a lifesaver for shoppers who didn’t want to lug souvenirs around all day. It hasn’t returned since 2020.

Gone at most hotels, except for the Grand Floridian. A once-luxurious option is now missing for nearly everyone.

3. Complimentary Breakfast
Unlike nearby chains, Disney does not offer free breakfast. Everything is out of pocket.
4. Magical Express
Once a signature perk, this complimentary airport shuttle is no longer available. Mears Connect is its paid replacement.
5. Complimentary Toiletries
No more collectible H2O+ bottles — just wall-mounted dispensers.

6. MagicBand Discounts
Discounts for MagicBand+ are gone. Guests now pay full price.
7. No Complimentary Disney+
There’s no free streaming. Guests must log in with their own accounts, and not all resorts even offer the app natively.
What You Still Get
To be fair, Disney hasn’t stripped away everything. Early theme park Entry is still around. Additionally, there’s free transportation available via Monorail, buses, boats, and Skyliner. Overnight parking is also free again.
But stacked against the perks they’ve taken away, the value gap is glaring. Those remaining benefits simply don’t feel as generous when so many of the old favorites are gone.
