Power Rangers Could Return to Disney World Following Exciting News

Few franchises have left as colorful a mark on children’s entertainment as Power Rangers. Since their debut in 1993 with Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, the color-coded, spandex-wearing superheroes have become a cultural touchstone, blending action, teamwork, and ridiculously over-the-top villains in a way that resonated with multiple generations.

Power Rangers Is Being Rebooted for Disney+

Now, the franchise is set for a new chapter with a Disney+ reboot series officially confirmed. Jonathan E. Steinberg and Dan Shotz, the showrunners behind Percy Jackson and the Olympians, are attached to the project.

Steinberg confirmed the news to Movieweb during a recent premiere event for Disney+’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2, saying, “The rumor [of a Power Rangers reboot] is true. I can not tell you, but I am very, very excited for that story.”

Is a Disney Parks Return Likely?

If successful, could this mean a possible return to Disney World for the Power Rangers. It sounds unlikely, but Power Rangers previously appeared at Disney’s Hollywood Studios (then called Disney-MGM Studios). A popular reboot could easily open the door to a similar or even larger presence, from new character experiences to immersive attractions.

Disney's Hollywood Studios itself is already evolving. With an upcoming Monsters, Inc.-themed land, a Power Rangers area could inject high-energy action and vibrant visuals into the mix. Imagine a stunt-based show or interactive ride that brings action to life, combining nostalgia for longtime fans with eye-catching thrills for a new generation.

At this stage, the Disney+ series is the only confirmed piece of the puzzle. While it’s unclear whether the show will serve as a full reboot or a continuation of previous iterations, the involvement of Steinberg and Shotz suggests a bold, story-driven approach that could distinguish this version from past adaptations.

If the series resonates, it may lay the foundation for a broader expansion, including merchandise, cinematic projects, and—most tantalizingly—a return to Disney Parks.
