Marvel Omits Key ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Actor Before Release

Marvel Studios is preparing for one of the biggest cinematic events of the next few years. With Avengers: Doomsday(2026) on the horizon, the studio has been steadily releasing teasers and promotional footage that hint at a massive crossover between several corners of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Fans have already begun analyzing every frame of the trailers for clues about the film’s story. From Wakandan warriors to the arrival of Doctor Doom, the movie appears poised to reshape the MCU in a major way.

But amid all that excitement, one small detail in Marvel’s marketing materials has raised eyebrows.

An actor who appears in the film’s teaser footage has been left off the official cast listing released alongside the trailer.

A Missing Credit That Fans Quickly Noticed

When Marvel released one of the latest teasers for Avengers: Doomsday (2026), the footage showcased a number of returning characters from across the MCU.

Among the heroes appearing in the teaser were Shuri, M’Baku, and Namor, hinting that Wakanda and Talokan may play an important role in the upcoming film.

After the teaser debuted, Marvel also published an official description listing several of the actors who appeared in the footage.

But one name was notably absent.

Mabel Cadena, who portrays Namora in the MCU, was not included in the cast listing despite her character appearing in the teaser alongside Namor.

For Marvel fans who had already spotted the character in the footage, the omission was difficult to ignore.

Why Namora Matters

Namora made her MCU debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022), where she served as one of the most trusted members of Namor’s Talokanil forces.

The character was portrayed as a fierce and highly skilled warrior who fought directly alongside Namor during the conflict with Wakanda.

In the comics, Namora has a similarly long-standing history. She was introduced during Marvel’s early Golden Age era and has frequently appeared in stories connected to Namor and Atlantis.

Because of that connection, many viewers expected Namora to remain part of the MCU’s ongoing exploration of Talokan and its people.

Her brief appearance in the Avengers: Doomsday (2026) teaser seemed to confirm that expectation — at least initially.

What the Teaser Reveals

The footage shows Namora standing beside Namor during a brief moment that appears to hint at a larger alliance forming between Talokan and Wakanda.

This would represent a major shift in the MCU’s story. In Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022), the two nations were locked in a fierce conflict.

But the threat introduced in Avengers: Doomsday (2026) appears to be much larger than either nation can handle alone.

Doctor Doom is expected to serve as the film’s primary villain, and early promotional material suggests that multiple Marvel factions will have to unite in order to stop him.

If that storyline unfolds as expected, Talokan’s warriors — including Namora — could play a role in the upcoming battle.

Marvel’s Mysterious Marketing

Marvel has never been shy about keeping secrets.

The studio has a long history of carefully managing what fans see in trailers and promotional material. Characters are sometimes hidden entirely, while others appear briefly before playing only minor roles in the final film.

In some cases, actors have even been left out of early marketing in order to preserve surprises for audiences.

Because of that history, the omission of Cadena’s name from the cast listing may not necessarily indicate a major change.

It could simply be Marvel choosing to keep certain details about the film’s full cast under wraps until closer to release.

A Film That Will Shape the MCU’s Future

Regardless of the reason behind the omission, the moment has added another layer of intrigue to a film that already carries enormous expectations.

Avengers: Doomsday (2026) is expected to unite heroes from across the MCU in a battle against Doctor Doom, one of Marvel’s most iconic villains.

The project marks another major turning point for the franchise following the events of Avengers: Endgame (2019).

With so many characters potentially appearing in the story, it’s possible that some will have larger roles than others.

For now, Marvel has not addressed the missing cast credit — and fans will likely continue searching for answers as new trailers and promotional material emerge.

Until then, even the smallest changes in Marvel’s marketing campaign are enough to spark new theories about what lies ahead for the MCU’s next Avengers adventure.
