Disney’s Marvel universe has been steadily taking over its global theme parks, reshaping lands once dominated by fantasy and fairy tales into futuristic hubs of superheroes. From costumed meet-and-greets to multi-ride immersive lands, the company has leaned heavily into its blockbuster franchise to draw new audiences and diversify its attractions.
At Disney California Adventure, Avengers Campus debuted in 2021, offering fans a web-slinging Spider-Man ride, themed eateries, and character encounters. The area also houses Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout!, a reimagined drop tower that has become one of the park’s defining attractions. A year later, Walt Disney Studios Park in Paris — currently rebranding to Disney Adventure World — followed with its own version, complete with Avengers Assemble: Flight Force and Spider-Man W.E.B. Adventure.

Now the spotlight is shifting to Asia, where Marvel’s presence is set to expand dramatically. Hong Kong Disneyland, which has already woven in Marvel attractions, marked its 20th anniversary this week by unveiling concept art for what could become its biggest superhero-themed expansion yet.
A Larger Vision for Stark Expo
The resort revealed plans for a major update to Stark Expo, a Tomorrowland section already home to Iron Man Experience and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Nano Battle. The new concept art includes exterior views of a massive Avengers-branded tower and a building labeled “Research Testing Labs,” hinting at something closer to a full Marvel land than a simple addition.
While the park has long offered Marvel attractions, including Iron Man Experience and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Nano Battle, the new additions point to something much larger — a third Avengers Campus, if you will.

Among the highlights is a new Spider-Man attraction, confirmed as part of the expansion. Freshly released artwork shows riders passing through a glowing portal led by Thor, joined by Doctor Strange, Black Panther, and Spider-Man, with Asgard looming in the distance. Another image teases a climactic battle against Doc Ock, pulling guests directly into the action alongside Marvel’s most famous heroes.
According to Disney, the storyline will follow Peter Parker as a Stark Industries intern. Guests witness his latest inventions before things inevitably spiral into chaos, setting up an interactive showdown that mixes storytelling with cutting-edge ride technology.
A Growing Avengers Network
Hong Kong Disneyland already boasts two Marvel-centric rides, cementing its reputation as the company’s Asian testing ground for superhero attractions. Iron Man Experience, which opened in 2017, whisks riders through Hong Kong in a 3-D motion simulator, though notably with Robert Downey Jr. recast as the voice of Tony Stark. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Nano Battle! shrinks visitors to insect size for a blaster battle against Hydra.
The proposed expansion brings the lineup closer to what fans now expect from an Avengers Campus. While Disney continues to describe it as part of Stark Expo rather than a standalone land, the scale and theming suggest a blueprint aligned with California and Paris.

For Hong Kong Disneyland, the timing is significant. The resort is fresh off opening World of Frozen (which will soon also open in Paris) in 2023 and is still recovering financially from years of pandemic closures. Adding Avengers-branded experiences helps ensure global attention, bolstering the park’s standing against regional competition.
Meanwhile, Disney’s investment in Avengers Campus shows no sign of slowing elsewhere. At Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, Avengers Campus is already expanding with two new attractions. Avengers Infinity Defense will send riders across Marvel universes in a battle against King Thanos, while Stark Flight Lab will let guests test high-tech pods in a ride featuring Downey Jr.’s return as Tony Stark.

Beyond Avengers Campus, other Marvel attractions continue to bolster Disney parks worldwide. EPCOT in Florida has debuted Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, a spinning indoor coaster that, with its rotating soundtrack, has quickly become one of the park’s biggest (and most dizzying) draws. Together with Mission: Breakout! in California and the coming expansion in Hong Kong, Disney is building a sprawling Marvel portfolio that stretches across continents.
