Walt Disney World Resort‘s iconic Monorail just got a subtle but striking upgrade, and guests riding after dark are the first to notice it.
Glowing Retro Logos Light Up the Night

Sometime in the past few days, vintage-inspired logos began glowing on the sides of Walt Disney World Resort's Monorail trams. The update appears to have rolled out across the entire fleet, and it's the kind of detail that's easy to miss during daylight hours but impossible to ignore once the sun goes down.

Walt Disney World Resort has not issued any public statement acknowledging the update or offering details about when or why it was made.
A Legacy System Still Going Strong

The Monorail holds the distinction of being the oldest form of transportation at Walt Disney World Resort, and it remains one of the most recognizable. The system runs two separate loops: one serving Magic Kingdom Park and one serving EPCOT. The Magic Kingdom loop connects the park to the Transportation & Ticket Center, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney's Contemporary Resort, and Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. Guests heading to EPCOT need to transfer at or park at the Transportation & Ticket Center to board the second loop.
The Monorail is just one part of a broader transportation network that has grown considerably since Walt Disney World Resort opened. The Disney Skyliner gondola system links EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios to Disney's Pop Century Resort, Disney's Art of Animation Resort, Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, and Disney's Riviera Resort. Watercraft service connects select Disney Resort hotels to Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney Springs, and Disney's Hollywood Studios.

Everything else is covered by Walt Disney World Resort‘s complimentary bus network, which remains the only free transportation option to Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park.
