Exciting details have emerged for the second annual Savannah Bananas Day at Disneyland on March 26. This year’s event promises to be even bigger, expanding to both parks and Downtown Disney, unlike last year’s single-park event. Fans can look forward to one-day-only entertainment and themed food and beverages. The event will also feature the Indianapolis Clowns, a new Banana Ball Championship League team, adding to the excitement throughout the day. It’s definitely going to be a wild celebration for Disney and Banana Ball enthusiasts!
The Performances Are Going to Be Incredible at Disneyland
At Disneyland Park, the team will offer a special performance in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle at 10 a.m. featuring singing, dancing, and appearances by Mickey Mouse and some of his pals, which honestly sounds like the most Instagram-worthy moment of the entire day. Two hours later, at 12:30 p.m., the Savannah Bananas Cavalcade will make its way through Disneyland Park, where select players will shimmy, shake, and strut their way through the park following the traditional parade route.
Meanwhile, at Disney California Adventure, they’ll perform in the World of Color viewing area in Paradise Gardens Park for a unique show at 1:30 p.m., promising surprises and entertainment in line with Banana Ball’s reputation for unexpected moments. The Disney California Adventure show at 1:30 p.m. allows guests to experience the 12:30 p.m. Disneyland cavalcade, then move to California Adventure for the 1:30 p.m. performance if they have Park Hopper tickets.
You Need a Virtual Queue to Meet the Players
Fans will be able to meet with select Savannah Bananas and Indianapolis Clowns players at the Hyperion Theater Courtyard, but you’ll need a virtual queue confirmation and wristband to participate, so here’s what you need to do. Simply request to join the virtual queue in the Disneyland app at 9:00 a.m. PT. You must have a Disney California Adventure theme park reservation with a one-park ticket or a Park Hopper ticket.
You’ll be assigned a boarding group when joining the queue, and when your group is called, Disney will send you a push notification. Once your group is called, scan your ticket or entry code to pick up your wristband, then return to the location when the greeting opportunities begin at 2:15 p.m. to exchange high-fives and snap photos with select players. The 9:00 a.m. virtual queue opening time means guests should plan to join immediately when the queue opens because boarding groups will likely fill quickly.
Downtown Disney Has All-Day Activities
There will also be plenty of fun near the Downtown Disney LIVE! Stage all day from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. with a merchandise pop-up location featuring an absolutely “a-peeling” variety of Savannah Bananas merchandise, including T-shirts, hats, novelties, and gift items. Included among those items is a Savannah Bananas Disney tee and collectible lapel pin created specially for this event, which, honestly, is going to be a must-buy for collectors.
Adding even more fun to the district, a DJ will be playing upbeat jams at the Downtown Disney LIVE! stage from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., creating a festival atmosphere, and the best part is that the Downtown Disney activities are accessible without park admission, so even people without tickets can participate.
The Banana Food Looks Amazing at Disneyland
A variety of banana-flavored treats will be available across the Disneyland Resort, with many items available year-round beyond just the special event date. Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree in Bayou Country at Disneyland will serve banana pudding featuring bananas, whipped cream, crushed wafer cookies, dulce de leche, and toffee.
Wine Country Trattoria in Performance Corridor at California Adventure will offer a banana brûlée tart consisting of a vanilla tart with brûléed bananas topped with banana-coconut whipped cream, plus a frozen banana mudslide cocktail made with vanilla vodka, Kahlua, Baileys Irish Cream, banana liqueur, and half and half, which honestly sounds incredible. Cappuccino Cart in San Fransokyo Square will offer banana cold foam as an add-on to any drink, while select outdoor vending carts throughout both parks will sell frozen bananas dipped in chocolate.
The Savannah Bananas, known as “The Greatest Show in Sports,” operate within the Banana Ball Championship League, implementing unconventional rules that accelerate game pace, including that a fan catching a foul ball counts as an out, and players can attempt to steal first base, and honestly if you haven’t experienced Banana Ball yet, this is your chance.
