On March 25, Guests Arrived to a New Main Street at Magic Kingdom

The Town Square Theater on Main Street, U.S.A., displayed freshly painted rooftop decorations on March 25, marking visible progress on the Magic Kingdom Park building's exterior refurbishment that began earlier this year.

On Wednesday, WDWNT reported that Disney cast members had repainted decorative pieces atop the three rooftop towers. Elements that appeared stark white when installed weeks ago now show a beige color with white detailing that matches the building's existing color scheme. The outlet posted this image on Facebook:

Scaffolding and scrim appeared on Town Square Theater earlier in 2026, signaling the start of cosmetic work.

One flat, arch-shaped decoration on the front porch overhang still shows visible damage and fresh white primer. Disney cast members will presumably repaint it gray to match identical decorations elsewhere on Town Square Theater.

Walt Disney World Resort hasn't announced the project publicly or provided a completion timeline, which is typical for cosmetic refurbishments that don't affect operations.

Town Square Theater is one of the first things guests see at Magic Kingdom Park. Located immediately to the right when entering Main Street, U.S.A., it houses Tony's Town Square Restaurant, the park's main Mickey Mouse meet-and-greet, and a merchandise location. A second meet-and-greet space—currently empty but used for event-exclusive characters like Jack Skellington and Sally during Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party—also occupies the building.

Operations inside Town Square Theater continue unaffected by exterior refurbishment. Guests with questions about any disruptions to their Walt Disney World Resort vacation should visit Guest Services (or a blue Guest Relations pop-up tent) at any theme park or the Front Desk at their Disney Resort hotel.
