No More Harbor Blvd Lines? Disneyland’s New Shuttle Hack Every Guest Needs to Know

If you’ve ever stayed at a “Good Neighbor” hotel on Harbor Boulevard, you know the drill. You wake up early, join the mass exodus of families marching toward the pedestrian entrance, and then—the ultimate buzzkill—you hit the wall of humanity at the security checkpoints. It’s the least magical part of any Disney day.

But as of April 2026, the game has changed. Following the sudden shutdown of the Anaheim Resort Transportation (ART) system, Disneyland Resort hasn't just filled a gap; they’ve essentially created a “cheat code” for entering the parks.

Here is the breakdown of the new shuttle service that is quietly revolutionizing the morning commute for thousands of guests.

The Death of ART and the Birth of the “Super-Hub”

For years, the ART buses were the lifeblood of the Anaheim Resort district. They were the primary way for guests staying at non-Disney hotels to reach the parks without paying the $35+ daily parking fee. However, with ART officially ceasing operations, the city faced the potential for gridlock.

Disney’s response? They’ve officially expanded their own transportation footprint. The resort has launched a dedicated shuttle service that picks up guests at participating local hotels and transports them directly to the Toy Story Parking Lot.

While that might sound like just “another bus ride,” it’s actually a strategic upgrade that could save you nearly an hour of standing in the sun.

Why This Shuttle is Better Than Your Feet

Most guests assume that staying “across the street” and walking to the Harbor Boulevard entrance is the fastest way into the parks. In 2026, that might no longer be true.

The Security Shortcut

The biggest perk of the new Disney-managed shuttle system is centralized security. When you arrive at the Toy Story Lot via the new hotel shuttles, you go through security screening there.

  • No Harbor Lines: You bypass the massive, sweltering lines at the main pedestrian entrance.
  • The “Sterile” Bus: Once you clear security at the Toy Story Lot, you board a Disney bus that drops you off right in the Esplanade.
  • Straight to the Gates: You step off the bus already “cleared.” You can walk directly to the turnstiles of Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure while the “walkers” are still untangling their strollers in the security line outside.

Reliability You Can Trust

Unlike the previous third-party system, these shuttles are operated under the Disney umbrella. This means the schedules are synced with park hours, Early Entry, and those late-night “After Dark” events. If the park stays open until midnight, the shuttles will run until the last guest is out.

How to Use the New System

If you’re planning a trip this year, here’s how to make sure you’re using the new “hub-and-spoke” model correctly:

  1. Verify Your Hotel: Not every hotel in Anaheim is on the new Disney loop. Before you book, confirm that your hotel participates in the Toy Story Lot Shuttle Service.
  2. Look for the “Blue Pillars”: Disney has replaced the old ART signs with new, branded transportation pillars. This is your designated pick-up point.
  3. The “60-Minute Rule”: Even with the streamlined security at the parking lot, you want to be at your hotel’s shuttle stop at least 60 minutes before you want to be standing at the park gates.
  4. Use the App: Check the Disneyland App for “Transportation Updates.” It will now provide real-time info on shuttle frequency and any potential delays.

Is the “Disney Bubble” Getting Bigger?

For a long time, the “Disney Bubble”—that feeling of never leaving the magic—was something you had to pay a premium for by staying at an onsite hotel. By taking over the transportation for the surrounding area, Disney is effectively extending that umbrella.

From the moment you step onto that shuttle at your hotel, you are in Disney’s hands. You get Disney music, professional drivers, and the efficiency the resort is known for. It turns a “commute” into the actual start of your vacation.

Final Verdict: Walk or Ride?

If your hotel is literally touching the crosswalk at Harbor and Katella, walking might still be your best bet. But for everyone else—especially those staying a few blocks further down or near the Convention Center—the new Toy Story Lot Shuttle is the superior choice.

The ability to clear security in a less-crowded environment and get dropped off directly at the gates is a massive win for guest experience. The ART era is over, and honestly? The Disney era of Anaheim transit looks a whole lot brighter.

Pro Tip: If you're traveling with a large stroller or wheelchair, these new Disney shuttles are far more accessible than many city buses. You won't have to worry about the “will it fit?” stress that used to plague the old ART routes.
