Toy Story (1995) fans visiting Disneyland Resort in the coming weeks are in for a rough stretch. Not one but two interactive attractions themed to the iconic Pixar franchise are heading into refurbishment this month at the Southern California vacation destination, and neither has a reopening date.
Toy Story Midway Mania! Goes Dark

Toy Story Midway Mania! at Disney California Adventure Park closes Monday, April 6, for a refurbishment that Disneyland Resort has offered virtually no details about. The closure was announced back in February, but the Southern California Disney park has yet to share what work is planned or when guests can expect the Pixar Pier attraction to return.
The digital shooter was refreshed last summer with Disneyland70 anniversary targets and graphics. These updates will likely still be in place whenever the ride does reopen, since that celebration runs through August 9, 2026.
A Short Window for Buzz Lightyear

Toy Story (1995) fans have a brief reprieve over at Disneyland Park, where Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters remains open…but only until April 13. The Tomorrowland ride then goes into its own indefinite refurbishment, again with no timeline or plans disclosed by Disneyland Resort.
Over on the East Coast, Walt Disney World Resort is set to officially reopen its version of the ride, Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin at Magic Kingdom Park, on April 8. That attraction closed in August 2025 for significant upgrades, including new ride vehicles with redesigned handheld blasters, enhanced interactive targets, and a brand-new audio-animatronic robot character named Buddy. Soft openings and invite-only previews have already been taking place over the past several weeks.
Disneyland Resort has given no indication that the same upgrades will be coming to Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters.
