National Pet Day is April 11, and Disney marked the occasion by releasing a full cat merchandise lineup that will be genuinely problematic for anyone who owns a cat and has spent any meaningful amount of time building a Disney-themed home environment. The two identities combine in ways that the wallet rarely survives, and this particular lineup is not helping.
The standout item is the Disney Parks Stitch Cave Bed at $108.99, which is exactly what it sounds like. It is a plush cave bed designed to look like the cat is sleeping inside Stitch's open mouth. There is a flat inner bed covered in a Stitch and flowers pattern. The cat will not understand what is happening. The owner absolutely will, and that is the entire point of this product and arguably the entire Disney pet merchandise category.
But the Stitch bed is one item in a lineup that covers every major category a cat owner shops in and the full picture is worth knowing before you start clicking.
The Disney Toys
The toy section leans into two franchises that translate particularly well into cat-appropriate formats.
