If you’re planning a Disney World trip this summer, you might want to take a closer look at where you’re staying—because not all resorts are going to feel the same.

Disney is introducing a set of new offerings tied to its Cool KIDS’ Summer event, and while most guests expect the parks to get all the attention, this time the spotlight is shifting. The resorts are getting in on the action, and in some cases, they might end up being just as memorable.
But only four hotels are getting the full experience.
Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, and Disney’s Port Orleans — Riverside are the ones to watch. These locations are becoming something of a hub for new activities and added convenience.

Making Travel Easier for Families
One of the most useful additions is something that solves a problem a lot of families deal with—packing.
At these four resorts, Disney is offering complimentary childcare essentials. That includes items like bottle warmers, infant tubs, diaper disposal units, and nightlights.
Instead of filling your suitcase with bulky extras, you’ll be able to rely on your hotel to provide them. It’s a small shift, but one that could make traveling with kids significantly easier.
A New Way to End the Night
After a full day in the parks, most families head back to their rooms and call it a night. This summer, that routine is getting an upgrade.
Disney is introducing special evening storytime experiences through curated libraries at these resorts. On select nights, these become relaxed, pajama-friendly gatherings where kids can listen to stories and participate in low-key activities.
It’s a simple idea, but it adds something that’s been missing—a smoother transition from the excitement of the parks to winding down for the night.
Slowing Things Down in the Best Way
Campfire activities are also getting more attention. Guests can expect evenings filled with marshmallow roasting and group sing-alongs, offering a break from the fast pace of the parks.

These kinds of experiences aren’t new to Disney, but expanding them to more locations—and tying them into a larger seasonal event—makes them feel more intentional.
And for many guests, that slower pace is exactly what makes a vacation feel complete.
The Bigger Picture
When you step back and look at everything together, it’s clear Disney is trying to reshape how people experience their trips.
This isn’t just about adding a few extra activities. It’s about making your resort stay feel like an extension of the parks, rather than something separate.

With character meet and greets also popping up at these hotels, and Early Entry still giving guests a head start each morning, the value of staying on property continues to grow.
And this summer, it might just be the deciding factor when it comes to where you book.
