At approximately 10:14 a.m. on April 22, law enforcement responded to a child neglect call at the Disney Springs Hotel Plaza, a stretch of Good Neighbor Resort hotels located near the Disney Springs shopping, dining, and entertainment complex. Scanner monitoring account @WDWActiveCrime logged the call on X (formerly Twitter) as it came in:

The pinned location on the accompanying map reflects the address where the call was logged rather than the precise location of the response, and it remains unclear which specific hotel deputies visited. Neither the Orange County Sheriff's Office nor Walt Disney World Resort issued any public statement about the incident.

Unless the child's parents or guardians face criminal charges, further details are unlikely to be made public, given the privacy protections that apply to cases involving minors.

Wednesday's law enforcement response did not produce any closures or disruptions at Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney's Hollywood Studios, Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, or Disney Springs. Guests visiting Walt Disney World Resort should not expect any delays or operational impacts as a result of the incident.

As always, anyone who encounters law enforcement activity while on Walt Disney World Resort property is encouraged to follow posted signage and verbal instructions from officers and Disney cast members. The Central Florida vacation destination works to limit the effect of police responses on the broader guest experience wherever possible.
