Overnight, Disney World Updates Entrance to Hollywood Studios Theme Park

Guests arriving at Disney's Hollywood Studios on Thursday morning found the area around the theme park's ticket booths looking noticeably darker after an overnight pavement repainting completed by Walt Disney World Resort without advance notice.

WDWNT reported on Thursday that the pavement surrounding the ticket booths at the Disney's Hollywood Studios entrance had been repainted a fresh dark gray. The contrast with the surrounding ground is immediately visible; years of daily foot traffic combined with Central Florida's intense sun and rain have left the untouched pavement worn to a significantly lighter shade.

The refresh covers the full area around the ticket booths, though the pavement near the entrance tapstyles and the walkway leading up to the booths still shows its age. Those areas are likely to be repainted in the coming days as crews work through the project in stages, though Walt Disney World Resort has not confirmed that.

As with most minor maintenance work at its theme parks, Walt Disney World Resort made no public acknowledgment of the project.

Impact on Guests

The overnight timing means the freshly painted pavement was already accessible to guests when the park opened Thursday morning. The main entrance to Disney's Hollywood Studios remained fully operational throughout, with no closures or detours required.

The only scenario that could temporarily affect foot traffic is if newly applied paint doesn't fully cure overnight — in which case, Disney cast members typically rope off the affected section with poles and stanchions while guests are directed around it. That situation does not appear to have occurred yet.

As always, guests who encounter any blocked-off areas during their visit to Walt Disney World Resort should follow directions from cast members and any posted signage.
