Disney Springs Cuts Weekday Availability, Disney World Confirms

A popular hands-on experience at Disney Springs is now available only on weekends. The change happened without a word of explanation from Walt Disney World Resort.

Weekdays Gone From the Schedule

Amorette's Patisserie has offered daily cake-decorating classes at Disney Springs for years, giving guests the chance to work alongside a Disney pastry artist in a private pre-opening session. That daily availability is now a thing of the past. Walt Disney World Resort's website was updated this week, confirming that classes on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays have been removed from the schedule.

From now on, the 90-minute experience runs only on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, with a single class offered each day at 9:15 a.m. Under the previous schedule, the Mickey Mouse Dome Cake class ran on Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and the Amorette's Choice Dome Cake was available on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. No reason was given for the reduction.

What Guests Are Signing Up For

The class format itself is unchanged. Participants arrive before the bakery opens, creating a private experience with a Disney pastry chef who walks them through the decorating process while sharing insider details about life in Walt Disney World Resort‘s bakeries.

The cake varies depending on the day: Friday classes feature the Amorette's Choice Dome Cake, built on lemon chiffon cake with white chocolate mousse and strawberry pate de fruit jelly. Weekend classes on Saturday and Sunday center on the signature Mickey Mouse Dome Cake — chocolate chiffon cake, milk chocolate mousse, and orange pate de fruit jelly. All guests receive a special gift, and finished cakes can be taken home or back to a Disney Resort hotel.

Pricing is $199 for up to two guests, which includes the cake, decorating supplies, and a beverage spread with specialty coffees, teas, water, and select alcoholic drinks. A second cake can be added for an additional $50. Bookings are available on the Walt Disney World Resort website or by calling (407) 934-3500.
