The upcoming video game Jurassic Park: Survival (TBA) is taking players back to Isla Nublar in the most direct way possible: the day after the events of the 1993 film.
Developed by Saber Interactive and published in partnership with Universal Pictures, the first-person action-adventure survival game is set just 24 hours after Jurassic Park, placing players in the immediate aftermath of the park’s collapse, as seen in the original film.

The premise alone raises immediate speculation about the return of legacy characters. The original lineup—Alan Grant, Ellie Sattler, and Ian Malcolm—have long been central figures across the franchise, returning in sequels such as The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997), Jurassic Park III (2001), and Jurassic World Dominion (2022).
While their involvement in this new project has not been even remotely hinted at, the timing places the game directly within their escape window from Isla Nublar. However, the only confirmed character so far is Dr. Maya Joshi, played through motion performance capture by Payal Mistry.
Joshi is an InGen scientist who has been left behind on the island, now forced to survive alone among the dinosaurs, using stealth, intelligence, and all the resources she can find.
As Joshi, players will explore a full recreation of Isla Nublar, including the Visitor Center, park gates, and previously unseen areas such as resort hotels and underground facilities.

But despite its focus on a new protagonist, the game is likely to introduce legacy characters into the mix, including even deceased characters like Dennis Nedry (Wayne Knight) or Robert Muldoon (Bob Peck), perhaps through flashbacks or recordings.

Alternatively, the game may introduce add-ons (or DLCs) at a later date following its launch. This could allow players to experience iconic moments from the film as one of those characters — whether it's the kitchen scene with Lex and Tim or the one where Ellie is trying to turn the power back on in the maintenance shed — similar to how 2014's Alien: Isolation featured the Crew Expendable add-on as part of the “Nostromo Edition,” which allows players to relive a scene from Alien (1979) through Sigourney Weaver's Ellen Ripley.
Jurassic Park: Survival is in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, with no release date announced.
