Walt Disney World Resort has quietly upgraded one of its most practical family-friendly amenities, and parents of young children are going to notice the difference on their next hotel stay.
Out With the Bedrails, In With the Bumpers

The most significant change arriving at Walt Disney World Resort hotels is the replacement of traditional metal toddler bedrails with cushioned bed bumpers. Unlike the old removable bedrails — which were firm, cold to the touch, and occasionally uncomfortable for little ones who rolled against them in the night — the new padded bumpers slide directly under the fitted sheet. They serve the same purpose of keeping young children safely on the mattress, but in a considerably more comfortable and guest-friendly way.
WDW News Today shared a photo on Facebook showing one of the Walt Disney World Resort hotel beds set up with the new cushioned bumpers, giving families a clear look at what to expect.
Everything Else Available to Families

The bumper upgrade is the headline change, but it arrives alongside a broader suite of complimentary amenities that Walt Disney World Resort already offers to guests staying onsite with infants and toddlers. That list includes Pack ‘n Play travel cribs, bottle warmers, bottle sterilizers, infant bathtubs, night lights, diaper disposal units, mini refrigerators, stroller storage, and bathroom step stools for children. Guests who need help with medication storage can also make that request.
None of these amenities carries an extra charge, though availability isn’t guaranteed — which is why requesting them in advance is strongly recommended. Families can flag their needs during online check-in or stop by the front desk upon arrival at their Disney Resort hotel. Getting the request in early gives Disney cast members the best chance of having everything ready before the family walks through the door.

The full range of child-friendly amenities is available across all Disney Resort hotel tiers — Value, Moderate, and Deluxe — meaning families don’t need to splurge on a higher category to access them.
