Disney World Issues Last-Minute Statement on Three Major Attractions

Guests planning a late-night visit to Walt Disney World may want to take another look at Disney After Hours, as the resort has quietly expanded the lineup of attractions available during the popular ticketed events.

Held at Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and EPCOT throughout much of 2026, Disney After Hours allows guests to remain in the parks for three extra hours after regular closing. Event ticket holders can also enter as early as 7 p.m., giving them additional time to enjoy attractions before the exclusive event officially begins.

The offering has become one of Walt Disney World’s most popular premium experiences thanks to lower attendance levels, shorter attraction waits, and complimentary snacks and select bottled beverages included with admission. Event dates currently run through July 27 at Magic Kingdom, September 12 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and September 24 at EPCOT. Prices range from $155 to $199 per guest, plus tax, while Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club members can save $30 on select Hollywood Studios and EPCOT event nights.

Now, Disney has confirmed that three recently updated attractions have joined the After Hours roster.

At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, guests attending eligible events can now experience Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster following its recent reimagining. The longtime coaster underwent one of the most significant changes in its history when Aerosmith was replaced by The Muppets, introducing a new story and soundtrack while maintaining the ride’s signature high-speed thrills.

Magic Kingdom visitors will also find Big Thunder Mountain Railroad available during After Hours. The Frontierland attraction recently reopened after a lengthy refurbishment project that included extensive work as Disney continues broader development efforts in the area.

Another newly added attraction is Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin. The Tomorrowland ride recently debuted upgraded gameplay features, refreshed technology, enhanced targeting capabilities, and new interactive elements designed to improve the guest experience. The timing arrives as Disney prepares for the release of Toy Story 5 in 2026.

The additions further strengthen the value proposition of Disney After Hours, particularly for guests hoping to experience some of Walt Disney World’s newest ride updates without spending part of their day standing in traditional attraction queues.

The move also comes as Disney continues to lean into hard-ticketed offerings across the resort. During the company’s latest earnings discussion, CEO Josh D’Amaro and CFO Hugh Johnston noted that while Walt Disney World attendance has declined year over year, overall revenue has increased, aided by premium experiences, variable Lightning Lane pricing, and higher ticket costs.

With After Hours events continuing to draw strong demand, Disney’s latest attraction additions provide another incentive for guests looking to stretch their park day long after most visitors have headed home.

Thomas Hitchen

When he’s not thinking about the Magic Kingdom, Thomas is usually reading a book, becoming desperately obsessed with fictional characters, or baking something delicious (his favorite is chocolate cake -- to bake and to eat). He's a dreamer and grew up on Mulan saving the world, Jim Hawkins soaring through the stars, and Padmé Amidala fighting a Nexu. At the Parks, he loves to ride Everest, stroll down Main Street with an overstuffed pin lanyard around his neck, and eat as many Mickey-shaped ice creams as possible. His favorite character is Han Solo (yes, he did shoot first), and his favorite TV show is Buffy the Vampire Slayer except when it's One Tree Hill. He loves sandy beach walks, forest hikes, and foodie days out in the Big City. Thomas lives in England, UK, with his fiancée, baby, and their dog, a Border Collie called Luna.
