Disney Makes a Smart Change to Its Halloween Party Lineup and Kids Benefit the Most

Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party has been one of the most consistently excellent after-hours events in the Walt Disney World calendar for years. The entertainment is genuinely special, the crowds are more manageable than a standard park day, and the combination of trick-or-treating, rare character appearances, and a parade that belongs in a different category entirely from anything else Magic Kingdom offers on a regular night makes it worth every penny of the ticket price for the families who plan it correctly.

Planning it correctly starts with knowing the schedule. And this year, Disney just made the schedule significantly more friendly for the guests who need it most.

What Got Confirmed for This Halloween

Disney has officially locked in select showtimes for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party 2026, and the two confirmed anchors are the ones that matter most for building a family-friendly evening at Magic Kingdom.

Mickey's Boo-To-You Halloween Parade runs twice each party night. The late showing is confirmed for its traditional 11:15 p.m. start time, the slot that works for night owls and guests who want thinner crowds along the parade route. The early showing is confirmed at 8:15 p.m., and this is the confirmation that families with young children have been waiting for.

Disney moved the first parade showtime to a sunset window back in 2024 as a deliberate effort to make the Boo-To-You Parade accessible to younger guests before the night gets away from them. That decision returns for 2026, and it remains one of the most genuinely thoughtful scheduling calls Disney has made for this event. Young trick-or-treaters can now experience the full parade, which features Mickey, Minnie, and friends in Halloween costumes alongside waltzing ghosts, Disney Princesses, and a villain lineup that includes rare character appearances from Pain and Panic and Vanellope, at a time that does not require them to be vertical well past any reasonable bedtime.

The tradeoff is real and worth knowing. The 8:15 p.m. showing draws larger crowds than the late parade precisely because it is the accessible option. Positioning along the parade route well ahead of showtime is not a suggestion; it is a requirement for guests who want a quality viewing experience. The parade starts in Frontierland and travels down Main Street, U.S.A. The pre-parade Max and the Powerline Party Pack offering is only visible from Main Street, U.S.A., so guests specifically wanting that experience need to be in position there.

The Fireworks

Disney's Not-So-Spooky Spectacular is confirmed for 10:00 p.m. and runs once per party night. The show projects across Cinderella Castle while Jack Skellington anchors the forecourt stage, making the hub area the optimal viewing location and also the most competitive real estate in the park during the show window. Early positioning matters here even more than it does for the parade.

What Is Still Coming

The rest of the entertainment lineup has not had official showtimes confirmed yet for 2026. The Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular stage show is expected to return in front of Cinderella Castle, along with Masquerade with Stitch, the Disney Jr. Jam Dance Party, Halloween in Storybook Circus, the Cadaver Dans, and the Rusty Cutlass Pirate Band. Disney is expected to release those showtimes before the party season begins in August.

The Practical Details for The Halloween Season

Party tickets allow entry to Magic Kingdom starting at 4:00 p.m. on event nights, giving guests up to eight hours before the party closes. Ticket prices range from $119 to $229 depending on the date with peak nights at the top of that range. Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members receive a ten dollar discount.

For families with young children the math is straightforward. Enter at 4:00 p.m., trick-or-treat through the afternoon, position for the 8:15 p.m. Boo-To-You Parade, catch the 10:00 p.m. fireworks, and head out before midnight with a Halloween night that actually delivered.

The 8:15 p.m. parade confirmation is what makes all of that possible. Build the night around it, and the rest falls into place.
