It took less than a day. Oogie Boogie Bash, Disneyland Resort's wildly popular Halloween event at Disney California Adventure, opened ticket sales to the general public on June 18. By June 19, the single most anticipated date on the entire 33-night calendar was already gone.
Halloween night has officially sold out, and it happened fast enough to catch even guests who knew this event sells out every single year off guard.
The Two Dates That Are Already Gone
As of June 19, Oogie Boogie Bash has sold out for two specific dates. Halloween itself, Saturday, October 31, is no longer available to purchase. October 11, a Sunday landing squarely within the most atmospheric stretch of Disneyland Resort's Halloween season, has also sold out.
The math here is genuinely striking. General public sales opened June 18. Less than 24 hours later, both of these dates were gone. For an event that already has a reputation for selling out quickly, a sellout window measured in hours rather than days is a new level of demand even by Oogie Boogie Bash's standards.
Pricing only reinforces how significant this is. Halloween night was the most expensive single night on the entire 2026 calendar, priced at $199 per guest, sitting at the very top of this year's $139 to $199 general admission range. October 11 came in at $179. Both dates sold out at their respective price points without any apparent hesitation from buyers.
Why This Particular Halloween Event Sells So Fast
For Disney fans who have followed the ongoing debate over whether Oogie Boogie Bash or Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Walt Disney World deserves the title of best Disney Halloween event, sellouts like this one are exactly the kind of evidence that keeps tipping the argument toward Disneyland. Villains Grove at Redwood Creek Challenge Trail, immersive treat trails hosted by Disney villains, and rare character appearances from figures like Ernesto de la Cruz, Mother Gothel, and the Sanderson Sisters have built Oogie Boogie Bash into one of the most consistently sold-out ticketed experiences anywhere in the Disney calendar.
This year's event runs for 33 separate nights, the longest run Oogie Boogie Bash has ever offered, spanning from August 18 through Halloween night on October 31. That extended calendar was supposed to give guests more breathing room than previous years. The sellout of two dates within roughly 24 hours of general sales opening makes clear that more nights on the calendar does not mean less competition for the specific nights everyone actually wants.
What Else Is Part of This Year's Halloween Event
Oogie Boogie Bash runs from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. each event night, with party guests able to enter Disney California Adventure as early as 3:00 p.m. on their ticketed date without needing a separate theme park reservation. Parking is not included with party admission, and none of the Lightning Lane options are offered during the event.
This year's lineup includes the returning Villains Grove experience, character meetups, immersive treat trails, seasonal decor throughout the park, included PhotoPass downloads, and Madame Leota's Swinging Wake: A Haunted Mansion Street Party, a brand new addition replacing Mickey's Frightfully Fun Parade, which is not running this year due to construction in the area. An optional dessert party add-on accompanies the new street party for guests who want a reserved viewing experience.
A special D23 Night exclusive to D23 Members and their guests is also confirmed for September 27.
What This Means Going Forward
Most party nights remain available as of this writing, but the speed of these sellouts is the strongest possible signal that the rest of October is not far behind. Tickets remain valid only for the specific date purchased, are nonrefundable, and must be bought online.
For guests who have been weighing whether to commit to a date, the decision has gotten considerably more urgent in the span of a single day. The dates everyone expected to disappear first have already disappeared, and the rest of the calendar appears to be following close behind.
