Sales opened today for select Disneyland guests and the dates that most people want, the ones closest to Halloween and the opening night on August 18, are going to be gone before guests who are still thinking about it have finished thinking. Who Can Buy Right Now
Today, June 16, Inspire Key holders at the top tier of Disneyland Resort's Magic Key annual pass program can purchase pre-sale tickets. The waiting room opened at approximately 8:45 a.m. Pacific Time with sales beginning no earlier than 9:00 a.m. Pacific Time. If pre-sale inventory has not sold out the waiting room closes at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time.
Tomorrow, June 17, the pre-sale expands to all Magic Key holders across every tier including Inspire, Believe, Explore, Enchant, and Imagine Key holders at the same timing.
June 18 is when general ticket sales open to everyone else. The waiting room opens at approximately 8:45 a.m. Pacific Time with sales beginning no earlier than 9:00 a.m. Pacific Time. Being in that waiting room when it opens is the single most important thing a non-Magic Key holder can do to secure the dates they actually want.
What the Disney Event Is
Oogie Boogie Bash is a separately ticketed after-hours Halloween event at Disney California Adventure that has built one of the most devoted followings of any Disney seasonal event in the country. The debate about whether it surpasses Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Walt Disney World is one that Disney Halloween fans have been having for years, and the argument for Oogie Boogie Bash grows every season.
The event transforms Disney California Adventure into a villain-focused Halloween experience with trick-or-treat trails, rare villain character appearances, Villains Grove, costumed hosts throughout the park, and ride overlays that cannot be experienced at any other time of year. The limited capacity of the after-hours event means the park feels genuinely different from a regular day, which is the quality that brings guests back repeatedly.
What Is New in 2026
The 2026 event runs on 33 separate nights from August 18 through Halloween on October 31, the most nights the event has ever offered. Dates typically fall on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays across August, September, and October.
The most significant change this year is the absence of Mickey's Frightfully Fun Parade. Due to construction in the area, the parade will not take place in 2026. In its place, Madame Leota's Swinging Wake: A Haunted Mansion Street Party is making its debut as a brand new experience. An optional add-on dessert party is available for guests who want an enhanced viewing option for the new street party.
The Disney Fall Season That Surrounds It
Oogie Boogie Bash does not exist in isolation. Halloween Time at Disneyland Resort runs from August 21 through October 31 across both parks, bringing Haunted Mansion Holiday, Monsters After Dark at Guardians of the Galaxy Mission Breakout, seasonal food and merchandise, and decorations throughout both parks. Plaza de la Familia, the Dia de los Muertos celebration at Disney California Adventure, runs from August 21 through November 2 and adds a meaningful cultural layer to the fall season alongside the Halloween programming.
Guests attending Oogie Boogie Bash during the heart of that fall window are experiencing the event inside a resort operating at its seasonal best.
