Disneyland is known for its enchanting atmosphere and thrilling attractions. However, multiple rides and experiences are set to close in the coming months. While the park celebrates its 70th anniversary, it is also undergoing essential refurbishments that will temporarily remove several classic attractions from operation. Guests planning a visit might want to stay updated on these changes to ensure an enjoyable experience.

Several beloved rides will be impacted, including the classic Matterhorn Bobsleds, which has been closed since May. Additionally, Star Tours—The Adventures Continue will also go dark for an unknown period starting June 30. The iconic Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room is undergoing repairs but is expected to reopen shortly on July 2. Other notable attractions like Pixar Pal-A-Round and Casey Jr. Circus Train will follow suit, contributing to a significant shift in the park’s offerings.

Each attraction’s downtime varies. While some rides may remain closed for a few days, others are projected to be offline for a much longer duration. For example, Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln is closed for renovations until after the anniversary celebrations, which indicates extensive upgrades. Guests should anticipate that many attractions could potentially stay closed until at least August 7.

There are important dates for guests to keep in mind concerning major attraction closures. Starting on June 30, Star Tours will close for refurbishment, followed by Pixar Pal-A-Round from July 14 to July 24. Other notable closures include Main Street Cinema, which will be down from July 15 to July 17, and Redwood Creek Challenge Trail, scheduled for closure on July 21.

Refurbishments are essential for maintaining the familial charm and magical allure of Disneyland attractions. The planned refurbishments will not only enhance the experience of the rides but also ensure guest safety. Guests can look forward to a returning classic experience once the updates are complete, such as the new Walt Disney – A Magical Life show expected July 17.

Despite the closures, Disneyland offers plenty of alternatives for guests to explore. With attractions like It’s a Small World, Pirates of the Caribbean, and the Haunted Mansion still operational, visitors will find many opportunities to create magical memories. Disneyland’s cast members often provide insights into other attractions and shows that may be less crowded, helping guests make the most of their visits.

Planning a trip to Disneyland during these updates requires some adaptability. It helps to check the official Disneyland website for real-time updates and attraction statuses. Guests may consider visiting during off-peak times or strategically planning around anticipated closures to maximize their experience. Utilizing the Disneyland app can assist in tracking wait times and keeping informed on any changes.
