At 9:36 p.m. on July 7, the Orange County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call reporting a battery incident at EPCOT. Scanner monitoring account @WDWActiveCrime logged the response on X (formerly known as Twitter):

The Google Maps pin attached to the alert places the response near Spaceship Earth — the generalized address used to track calls at EPCOT, rather than a confirmed, precise location. Where within the park the incident actually occurred hasn't been established.

Details about the number of guests involved, the severity of any injuries, and whether anyone was subsequently banned from Walt Disney World Resort are all unknown at this time. Neither the Orange County Sheriff's Office nor Walt Disney World Resort has issued any statement about the incident. Further information may surface if a police report is prepared or criminal charges are filed.

No Disruption to Park Operations

EPCOT and the rest of Walt Disney World Resort are operating normally following Tuesday evening's law enforcement response. Guests visiting the Central Florida Disney parks should not expect any closures or delays connected to the incident.

Anyone who encounters a law enforcement or security response during a Walt Disney World Resort visit should follow all directions from cast members and officers on the scene and give the area appropriate space. Disney tries to minimize the impact of such situations on other guests.
