Somebody at Disney finally did the math. For a while now, there has been one breakfast at Walt Disney World that regulars traded like a secret. Not a character meal. Not a hard-to-book signature. A quiet resort restaurant with a pricing structure that made almost no sense in the company's favor.
That structure is gone as of this week, confirmed off the menu.
Before we get into what happened, understand why people cared so much. Breakfast at Walt Disney World is a headache. The in-park stuff tends to run small, sweet, and expensive, and the good options are never in the park you happen to be standing in. You eat a pastry at rope drop, ride two things, and you are hungry again before your first Lightning Lane.
So the veterans go to the hotels. Better food, calmer rooms, actual variety. And of all the resort breakfasts, one had a deal attached that people specifically built their mornings around.
The Spot
Ale & Compass Restaurant, inside Disney's Yacht Club Resort, over in the EPCOT Resort Area.
Disney describes it as a coastal-inspired room reminiscent of a cozy lighthouse, serving New England comfort food and classic seafood dishes. Breakfast runs 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. every day, with lunch from 11:45 to 2 and dinner from 5 to 9.
The menu is legitimately good. Crab Cake Eggs Benedict. Dark Chocolate Waffle. Steak and Egg. A plant-based Protein Hash Bowl for anyone avoiding meat. Plus, the standards for the people at your table who only want scrambled eggs and Mickey waffles.
Reservations are strongly recommended, same-day tables are hit or miss, and there is a per-person fee if you no-show or cancel late.
The Breakfast Deal Everyone Is Mourning
Here it is.
Ale & Compass used to offer the Continental Enhancement. Twenty-eight dollars for adults. That got you your choice of entree, a drink, and full access to a breakfast buffet on top of it.
Now put that next to the entree prices.
American Breakfast, $17. New England-style Omelet, $16. Crab Cake Eggs Benedict, $19. Hot Honey Chicken and Waffles, $22. Steak and Egg, $26.
So twenty-eight bucks was covering an entree that already ate most of the total, plus a beverage, plus a buffet, at a deluxe resort, at Walt Disney World, in 2026. That is not a normal price on this property, and everybody knew it.
It was especially good for families. One kid picks at the buffet, one adult orders the steak and egg, nobody leaves hungry, nobody has to negotiate. Very little else at Disney World handles a table with four different appetites as gracefully.
What They Swapped In
Two add-on sides. Ten dollars apiece.
Danish Basket: Cinnamon Rolls, Fruit Danish, and Assorted Mini Muffins.
Continental Parfait and Fruit: Açai, Blueberry, Strawberry, Sliced Banana, Granola, Coconut, and Honey.
Neither one is a bad plate. And technically, a $16 entree plus a $10 side lands you under the old twenty-eight-dollar number.
But the variety is what disappeared. A spread became a side dish. Solo diner, probably fine. Family of four with four different opinions about breakfast, that is a real downgrade.
Still Worth Booking?
Honestly, yes.
The entrees did not change, and they remain some of the stronger sit-down breakfast plates in the EPCOT Resort Area. The dining room is quiet, the walk to EPCOT or Hollywood Studios is easy, and the seafood-leaning menu genuinely separates it from everything else serving breakfast on property.
What is gone is the bargain. It went from a deal worth planning around to a solid breakfast at regular Disney prices.
Breakfast Backup Plans
If this blows up your morning, a few reliable moves.
Kona Cafe at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort is still the pick for a fast but genuinely satisfying sit-down breakfast, and it is simple to reach from Magic Kingdom.
Already through the gates? The Fresh Fruit Waffle at Sleepy Hollow Refreshments in Magic Kingdom has been a favorite for years, and the Breakfast Ronto Wrap at Ronto Roasters in Disney's Hollywood Studios is one of the best quick-service breakfast items anywhere on property.
None of them replace what Ale & Compass was doing. They will keep the day moving.
Before You Go
Menu changes at Disney World happen constantly, and most of them nobody blinks at.
This one hit different because the Continental Enhancement was one of the last things on the property, where guests walked out feeling like they got the better end of the deal.
If you have a Yacht Club breakfast on the books, adjust expectations before you sit down. The food is still worth the reservation. The steal is not there anymore.
