Disney World Overhauls Restaurant Menus With More Than 50 New Items

Walt Disney World is giving guests a lot more to consider before deciding where to eat on their next trip.

More than 50 new food and drink items have arrived across the resort, bringing changes to Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and several Disney Resort hotels. Some restaurants received only a couple of additions, while others now have menus that look dramatically different.

Disney also removed a long list of existing dishes and drinks in the process, meaning returning guests may discover that an old favorite is no longer available.

Here’s where some of the biggest changes have happened.

Magic Kingdom Adds New Food Options

Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe is one of the Magic Kingdom restaurants receiving a substantial update.

The restaurant added a Barbecue Bacon Cheeseburger, Nacho Bowl, Rice Bowl, Southwest Caesar Salad, and Churro Loops.

Those additions come with several removals. The Double Barbecue Bacon Cheeseburger, Coca-Cola Cherry-braised Pork Sandwich, Sweet Corn Mousse, and Mini Churros have all left the menu.

Golden Oak Outpost also has something new for guests looking for a snack. Banana-Caramel Beignets are now available alongside freshly brewed Joffrey’s Coffee.

Elsewhere in Magic Kingdom, Liberty Tree Tavern removed its House-made Liberty Sangria, while Liberty Square Market dropped the Red, White, and Blue Slushy.

Disney's Yacht Club Gets a Huge Dining Overhaul

Some of the biggest changes aren't happening inside a theme park.

Ale & Compass Restaurant at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort received an extensive menu overhaul affecting breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert.

New breakfast choices include Avocado Toast, a Breakfast Flatbread, and a New England-style Omelet.

Later in the day, guests can choose from additions including Tomato and Burrata Salad, Steamed Mussels, Maryland-style Crab Cake, Waldorf Chicken Salad Sandwich, Blackened Fish Tacos, Steak Frites, and a Seasonal Market Vegetable Flatbread.

New entrées include a 12-ounce New York Strip, Herb-roasted Chicken Breast, and Red Wine-braised Short Rib.

Disney also introduced Banana Crème Brûlée and a Peanut Butter-Marshmallow Cup for dessert.

The changes came at the expense of numerous previous offerings. The restaurant removed dishes including its New England Breakfast Quiche, Smoked Salmon Flatbread, Crab Cake Benedict, Red Wine-braised Flat Iron, Bone-In Pork Chop, Corn Agnolotti, Butter Cake, and several others.

Nearby Ale & Compass Lounge also changed its lineup, replacing Clams Casino and Meatballs with Blue Crab Bisque.

Coronado Springs Adds Several New Choices

Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort is another location where guests will find substantial changes.

Rix Sports Bar & Grill added Chicken & Mickey Waffles, Peanut Butter Crunch Pancakes, Caribbean Hash Skillet, Havana Sandwich, Homestyle Oatmeal, and Triple Play.

Lunch and dinner additions include Stadium Wings, Chicken Milanesa Sandwich, The Ultimate Patty Melt, The Steak Out, The Gathering Board, and Soup du Jour.

Several previous dishes disappeared at the same time, including Chicken Filled Waffles, Southern Fried Chicken Biscuit Skillet, Loaded Nachos, Rix Half-Time Burger, California Chicken Sandwich, and Rix Steak Sandwich.

Laguna Bar also added The Gathering Board and Wings while removing several previous choices.

Grand Floridian Menus Are Changing Too

Guests heading to Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa will also encounter changes.

Grand Floridian Cafe removed several dishes, including its Seasonal Soup, Floridian-style Eggs Benedict, Breakfast Sandwich, and Tofu Power Bowl.

The restaurant also dropped a lengthy lineup of drinks, including the Pomegranate Limeade, Watermelon Lemonade, Royal Berry Spritzer, Spicy Paloma, French 75, and Gold Rush Cocktail.

A new offering called So Many Wishes has joined the menu.

At Gasparilla Island Grill, Disney added three new meal options: a Salmon Bowl, Breaded Chicken, and Glazed Meatloaf.

More New Items Arrive Around Disney World

The changes continue at several other Disney Resort hotels.

Capt. Cook’s at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort added peanut/tree nut allergy-friendly versions of the Hot Ham and Bacon Sandwich and Thai Coconut Meatballs.

Everything Pop Shopping and Dining at Disney’s Pop Century Resort now offers a Strawberry Lemonade Cupcake.

That cupcake also arrived at Intermission Food Court at Disney’s All-Star Music Resort, where guests can also find a Large Buffalo Chicken Pizza.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios received a smaller change, with the Hollywood Brown Derby removing the Kids’ Hot Dog.

Disney World Dining Looks Different

With more than 50 new items arriving across Walt Disney World, this is much more than a handful of seasonal additions.

Restaurants including Ale & Compass and Rix Sports Bar & Grill have undergone particularly large transformations, while smaller additions are spread across several other hotels and park locations.

And Disney isn't simply making menus larger. Many new offerings have replaced existing dishes, desserts, and drinks.

That makes checking the latest menu worthwhile even for guests returning to a restaurant they've visited many times before. The meal they remember from their last Disney World vacation may not look quite the same anymore.

A frequent visitor of Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Orlando Resort, Andrew will likely be found freefalling on Twilight Zone Tower of Terror or enjoying Pirates of the Caribbean. Over at Universal, he'll be taking in the thrills of the Jurassic World Velocicoaster and Revenge of the Mummy
