The heat index at Walt Disney World Resort has been consistently hitting 110 degrees — but that didn't stop the overnight crew from installing the first fall decorations of the 2026 season at Magic Kingdom Park while guests were sleeping.
Pumpkins and Bunting Arrive on Main Street, U.S.A.
WDWNT reported on August 3 that Walt Disney World Resort cast members had spent the night between August 2 and August 3 installing the opening wave of autumn decorations at Magic Kingdom Park. The outlet shared a photo of orange, yellow, and red bunting now adorning the facade of the Main Street, U.S.A., train station at the park's entrance.
The carved jack-o'-lanterns above both walkways that pass under the Walt Disney World Railroad station have also been installed. The pumpkin display features gourds of varying sizes and colors, each carved with Mickey Mouse head silhouettes, with lettering that spells out “See Ya Real Soon!” across the arrangement.
More is still to come. Additional autumnal bunting and carved pumpkins are expected to spread further down Main Street, U.S.A., toward Cinderella Castle over the coming days. The beloved Mickey Mouse head pumpkin lights and autumn leaf wreaths that line light posts throughout Main Street, U.S.A., U.S.A., and around Cinderella Castle haven't been installed yet but are anticipated to arrive soon.
The Party That's Already Selling Out
The fall decoration rollout arrives just days before the start of Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, which takes over Magic Kingdom Park on select evenings from August 7 through October 31, 2026. Several dates have already sold out entirely — including opening night and Halloween itself.
The after-hours event brings trick-or-treating stations around the Magic Kingdom, a rare opportunity for guests of all ages to wear costumes at a Walt Disney World Resort theme park, Mickey's Boo-to-You Halloween Parade, the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular, Disney's Not-So-Spooky Spectacular fireworks, specialty food and beverage offerings, and themed merchandise. New for 2026 is a Tomorrowland masquerade inspired by Lilo & Stitch (2002).
