Star Wars fans heading to Disney’s Hollywood Studios have another reason to be excited about visiting Batuu.
One of the most expensive experiences inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge recently lost a useful feature that helped guests make an important decision before their adventure began. The experience continued operating, but visitors had fewer tools available when choosing exactly what they wanted.
After weeks without it, that feature has returned.
That’s particularly welcome news for guests preparing to spend $274.99 on an experience built around creating something uniquely their own.
Building a Lightsaber Comes With a Serious Price
Savi’s Workshop – Handbuilt Lightsabers gives Star Wars fans an opportunity to do more than pick a souvenir off a shelf.
Guests enter a hidden workshop where Savi’s Gatherers lead them through the process of creating their own lightsaber. The experience combines storytelling with customization as builders select pieces, choose a kyber crystal, assemble their hilt, and eventually activate the finished lightsaber.
Disney currently charges $274.99 per lightsaber.
Before builders reach that point, they also need to choose which direction they want their lightsaber to take.
Four themes are available: Peace and Justice, Power and Control, Elemental Nature, and Protection and Defense. Each theme includes different components, allowing guests to create a look that matches their preferred style.
For a while, however, comparing those options became less convenient.
Guests Can Once Again See Their Options
According to WDW News Today, physical parts menus have returned to Savi’s Workshop after disappearing earlier in September.
The menus show guests the components associated with each of the four themes, providing another way to understand their options before settling on a design.
Disney reportedly stopped using the menus after they began cracking.
Guests still had another option while they were away. Examples of the available “scrap metal” remained displayed inside drawers, allowing builders to examine the different pieces before making their selection.
But the physical menus offered a simpler way to compare the choices in front of them.
The returning versions reportedly feature minor design adjustments. Cast Members have also indicated that guests might not find the menus available throughout the entire day.
Even with that possibility, their return restores another helpful tool for anyone trying to decide what their $274.99 lightsaber should look like.
A Small Detail Can Matter at This Price
Savi’s Workshop isn’t a small purchase for many Walt Disney World visitors.
Guests are spending nearly $300 on a personalized experience and a collectible they may keep for years. That makes the choices leading up to the building ceremony particularly important.
Some fans may arrive knowing exactly which theme they want. Others might need to see the available components before deciding between Peace and Justice or Power and Control, for example.
Once the ceremony begins, Savi’s Workshop places more emphasis on the story surrounding the lightsaber’s creation.
Allowing guests to understand their choices beforehand helps them focus more on the experience once they enter the workshop.
And the returning menus arrive as Disney adds other reasons for Star Wars fans to revisit Batuu.
Galaxy’s Edge Has Already Started Its Next Chapter
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run received one of its biggest updates in May 2026.
Disney introduced a new adventure featuring Din Djarin and Grogu, sending crews on another mission aboard the Millennium Falcon.
Riders can encounter destinations including Bespin, Coruscant, and the wreckage of the second Death Star near Endor. Disney also expanded the crew controls, giving guests more influence over how their mission unfolds.
More interactive additions are planned.
Disney has confirmed that Batuu Adventure Buddies will eventually come to Walt Disney World. The collection includes Grogu, an Ewok, and a Huttlet, with features including movement, sounds, touch responses, and interactive elements.
Disney has not announced when the Adventure Buddies will debut at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Galaxy’s Edge is also reaching beyond the physical theme park through Fortnite.
Guests can connect their Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run experience with the “Smugglers Gambit” Fortnite Experience, extending the adventure into the gaming world.
Savi’s Workshop Gets an Important Piece Back
Disney continues finding different ways to expand the Star Wars experience at Hollywood Studios, but sometimes a smaller operational update can make a noticeable difference.
That’s especially true at Savi’s Workshop.
At $274.99, guests are committing serious money to building a lightsaber they designed themselves. Having a convenient way to compare components can make that decision easier before the immersive ceremony begins.
The drawers served as an alternative when physical menus were unavailable, but guests now have another way to review their choices.
