Halloween may still be weeks away, but Disney+ subscribers can already start putting together a spooky-season movie marathon.
Disney has built up decades of Halloween entertainment, giving families plenty to choose from in 2026. The options range from witches and monsters to haunted mansions, vampires, talking dogs, and even the Headless Horseman.
Some of these movies have become annual traditions, while others offer a nostalgic trip back to the Disney Channel days. With October approaching, here are 13 Disney movies and specials worth adding to the Halloween watchlist.
Hocus Pocus (1993)
It's difficult to talk about Disney Halloween movies without starting with the Sanderson sisters.
The PG-rated Hocus Pocus (1993) follows three witches who return from the dead centuries after their time in Salem. Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy star as the sisters as they create trouble throughout one memorable Halloween night.
Mom's Got a Date With a Vampire (2000)
Disney Channel took a different approach to Halloween with Mom's Got a Date With a Vampire (2000).
The TV-PG movie follows siblings who want their mother out of the house so they can carry out their own plans. Things take an unexpected turn when they realize the man she's dating might actually be a vampire.
Frankenweenie (2012)
Tim Burton's Frankenweenie (2012) mixes an emotional story with some appropriately strange Halloween imagery.
Rated PG, the stop-motion movie centers on Victor, who uses science to bring his dog, Sparky, back to life. His successful experiment soon leads to much bigger trouble around town.
Muppets Haunted Mansion (2021)
The Muppets get their chance to encounter Disney's famous ghosts in Muppets Haunted Mansion (2021).
The TV-PG special follows Gonzo as he accepts a challenge to spend the night inside the Haunted Mansion. Along the way, familiar Muppets take on roles connected to the attraction and its supernatural residents.
Twitches (2005)
For Disney Channel fans, Twitches (2005) remains another witch-filled option.
Tia and Tamera Mowry star as twin sisters who were separated at birth before finding each other on their 21st birthday. The TV-PG movie follows them as they discover their magical abilities and learn how powerful they can become when they work together.
Spooky Buddies (2011)
Younger viewers can get into the Halloween spirit with Spooky Buddies (2011).
The G-rated movie puts Disney's talking puppies at the center of a supernatural adventure featuring a mysterious mansion, a friendly ghost, and an evil warlock.
The Haunted Mansion (2003)
Disney brought one of its famous theme park attractions to theaters with The Haunted Mansion (2003).
The PG-rated comedy stars Eddie Murphy as a real estate agent who enters Gracey Manor with his family. They quickly discover the property already has plenty of supernatural residents.
The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)
Halloween and Christmas collide in The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993).
The PG-rated animated movie follows Jack Skellington, Halloween Town's Pumpkin King. After discovering Christmas, Jack becomes fascinated by the holiday and decides to put his own Halloween-inspired spin on it.
Girl vs. Monster (2012)
Monsters take center stage in the Disney Channel Original Movie Girl vs. Monster (2012).
The TV-PG adventure follows Skylar after she discovers that her parents hunt monsters. When she accidentally releases creatures her family had captured, she finds herself facing the supernatural threat directly.
Hocus Pocus 2 (2022)
Fans can continue the Sanderson sisters' story with Hocus Pocus 2 (2022).
The PG-rated sequel takes place nearly three decades after the original movie. This time, three high school students must deal with the witches after the Black Flame Candle brings them back.
Halloweentown (1998)
Another Disney Channel favorite takes viewers to a place where Halloween isn't limited to one night.
The TV-PG Halloweentown (1998) follows Marnie as she discovers her family's magical history. Her journey leads her to Halloweentown, a community filled with supernatural residents going about their daily lives.
Haunted Mansion (2023)
Disney returned to its ghost-filled attraction with Haunted Mansion (2023).
The PG-13 movie follows a mother and son living in a New Orleans home occupied by supernatural residents. They eventually recruit an unusual group of experts to help deal with what's happening inside.
The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad (1949)
For a much older Disney Halloween option, there's The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad (1949).
The G-rated animated feature tells two separate stories. Its adaptation of “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” earns its place on a Halloween watchlist, eventually bringing Ichabod Crane face-to-face with the Headless Horseman.
There's No Need to Wait Until October
Disney+ subscribers can start their Halloween viewing well before October 31.
