Disney World Guests Sell Out Pricey Magic Kingdom Pass Days in Advance, Here’s Why

Walt Disney World guests heading to Magic Kingdom this Saturday will have to plan their day without Lightning Lane Premier Pass. The top-tier line-skipping product is no longer available for October 3, 2026, placing it among the first dates this month to reach capacity at the resort's flagship park.

Premier Pass has sold out at Magic Kingdom before, but the timing of this one is easy to explain. Operating hours, the Halloween event calendar, and a lower-than-usual weekend price all point in the same direction.

How Premier Pass Works

Lightning Lane Premier Pass grants a single use of the Lightning Lane entrance at every participating attraction in the park. There are no return times to schedule, so guests can head to rides in whatever order suits them. That convenience comes at a premium. Premier Pass is the most expensive line-skipping option Disney sells, and its price shifts with expected demand.

Across the next four weeks, Magic Kingdom pricing ranges from $299 to $429. Thursday, October 1, is at the floor of that range at $299. Several dates in the middle of the month have already reached the $429 ceiling. October 3 now shows as sold out.

A 15-and-a-Half-Hour Day

Operating hours are the biggest driver. On October 3, Early Theme Park Entry begins at 7:30 a.m., the park officially opens at 8 a.m., and closing is set for 11 p.m. That is close to the longest schedule Magic Kingdom runs.

Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is behind the extended day. The separately ticketed event occupies the park on numerous October evenings, and on those nights Magic Kingdom closes to daytime guests at 6 p.m. On non-party dates such as October 3, Disney has shifted Early Entry earlier and extended closing from the standard 10 p.m. to 11 p.m., creating a window of 15 and a half hours.

No 6 p.m. Cutoff

For Premier Pass buyers, that schedule changes the math. On party nights, day guests must finish up and exit by 6 p.m. so the event can begin. Without a party on October 3, pass holders keep access from early morning through late evening.

That flexibility opens the door to a midday rest, a table-service meal, or repeat visits to favorite attractions once the sun goes down, all without watching the clock. Because Premier Pass is sold per day, each additional hour adds value to the purchase.

The Lowest Saturday Price on the Board

Pricing sealed it. October 3 sold out at $379, the cheapest Saturday among the upcoming weekends currently on sale. Saturday, October 10, and Saturday, October 17, are each listed at $429, a gap of $50 per person.

For a family of four, that works out to $200 on a single day. More hours for less money made October 3 the obvious Saturday pick.

Options for This Weekend

Guests visiting Magic Kingdom this weekend can still look at Lightning Lane Multi Pass or Lightning Lane Single Pass, which may remain available for purchase. Premier Pass is also on sale for Sunday, October 4, at $379.

Anyone planning a trip later in October should watch non-party dates closely, since extended-hour days are expected to draw the strongest demand. Booking as early as possible remains the safest approach for guests counting on Premier Pass.

When he’s not thinking about the Magic Kingdom, Thomas is usually reading a book, becoming desperately obsessed with fictional characters, or baking something delicious (his favorite is chocolate cake -- to bake and to eat). He's a dreamer and grew up on Mulan saving the world, Jim Hawkins soaring through the stars, and Padmé Amidala fighting a Nexu. At the Parks, he loves to ride Everest, stroll down Main Street with an overstuffed pin lanyard around his neck, and eat as many Mickey-shaped ice creams as possible. His favorite character is Han Solo (yes, he did shoot first), and his favorite TV show is Buffy the Vampire Slayer except when it's One Tree Hill. He loves sandy beach walks, forest hikes, and foodie days out in the Big City. Thomas lives in England, UK, with his fiancée, baby, and their dog, a Border Collie called Luna.
