Disney World Confirms Steep Holiday 2027 Prices for Resorts, Leaving Families Scrambling

Families hoping to spend Thanksgiving or Christmas at Walt Disney World in 2027 can officially start making their hotel reservations. However, the newly available prices might prompt some guests to reconsider how much they're willing to spend.

Disney has opened its booking calendar through December 2027, giving vacationers their first opportunity to compare hotel costs during the final two months of the year.

Some accommodations cost less than $200 per night, while others cost up to $1,000. For anyone planning a weeklong vacation, choosing the right resort could save or cost several thousand dollars.

And with Disney already increasing other vacation expenses, those hotel prices deserve a closer look.

Disney World Opens Remaining 2027 Reservations

On October 6, Disney officially released hotel reservations for November and December 2027. Before that announcement, guests could only book stays through October.

The expanded calendar allows families to secure accommodations for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's celebrations.

Unfortunately, the additional booking options arrive alongside higher vacation costs.

Disney has increased the price of its most expensive single-day theme park ticket to $229 for select dates in late 2027. Families must also budget for meals, Lightning Lane purchases, and other expenses.

Hotel accommodations represent another major expense, especially for guests who want to stay on Disney property.

Fortunately, Disney offers several resort categories with very different price points.

Value Resorts Could Help Families Save Hundreds

Guests hoping to keep their hotel expenses manageable may want to begin with Disney's Value Resorts.

These properties typically feature smaller rooms and fewer amenities than more expensive Disney hotels. However, guests still enjoy complimentary transportation and Early Theme Park Entry.

Published comparisons for selected six-night stays in November and December 2027 revealed these average nightly prices:

  • Disney's All-Star Movies Resort: $194
  • Disney's Pop Century Resort: $257.67
  • Disney's Art of Animation Resort: $300.67

At those rates, six nights at All-Star Movies would cost approximately $1,164, compared to $1,804 at Art of Animation.

That's roughly $640 in savings simply by choosing a different Value Resort.

Another affordable option is The Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, with an average rate of $116.50 per night. However, guests should remember these are campsites, not traditional hotel rooms.

For families prioritizing affordability, these options could free up more money for other vacation activities.

Moderate Resorts Offer a Middle Ground

Not every family wants the least expensive hotel, but that doesn't necessarily mean spending Deluxe Resort prices.

Disney's Moderate Resort category includes Coronado Springs, Caribbean Beach, and Port Orleans.

These accommodations generally provide additional amenities while remaining below the company's most expensive hotel category.

One published comparison placed Disney's Coronado Springs Resort at approximately $365.33 per night.

That brings a six-night stay to around $2,192 before tickets, dining, and other expenses.

Although Moderate Resorts can provide a comfortable compromise, guests should compare properties carefully. Prices depend on travel dates, room categories, and availability.

And families looking for even more amenities should prepare for a considerably larger bill.

Deluxe Hotels Approach $1,000 Per Night

Disney's Deluxe Resorts offer premium accommodations, dining experiences, and convenient transportation options. However, those benefits come at a high cost.

For selected November and December 2027 stays, published average nightly prices included:

  • Disney's Wilderness Lodge: $687
  • Disney's BoardWalk Inn: $802.33
  • Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa: $972.67

A six-night stay would cost approximately $4,122 at Wilderness Lodge, $4,814 at BoardWalk Inn, or $5,836 at Grand Floridian.

Each resort offers advantages that could influence a family's decision.

Grand Floridian provides monorail transportation to Magic Kingdom. BoardWalk Inn offers walking access to EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios, while Wilderness Lodge provides boat transportation to Magic Kingdom.

Still, guests must decide whether those conveniences justify the additional expense.

Holiday Pricing Reveals an Unexpected Detail

The booking comparisons also revealed an interesting pattern.

Searches covering November 9–15 and November 21–27, 2027, returned identical average nightly prices for the eight accommodations examined.

Comparisons between selected early-December and late-December stays produced matching results as well.

That could give families more flexibility when choosing their holiday travel dates.

However, these findings apply only to the specific searches examined. They don't guarantee identical prices across all Disney resorts or room categories.

Should Families Book Their 2027 Holiday Vacation Now?

With reservations officially available, families can begin comparing their options rather than waiting for Disney to release additional dates.

Value Resorts offer lower accommodation costs, while Moderate and Deluxe properties provide different amenities at higher prices.

Guests hoping to save money should compare multiple resorts, check alternative travel dates, and watch for potential discounts.

After all, hotel accommodations are only one part of a Disney World vacation. With tickets, meals, and Lightning Lane purchases adding to the total, choosing the right resort could make a major difference.
