Disney World Officially Opens Reservations for Massive New Resort

A major addition to Walt Disney World is officially one step closer to welcoming its first visitors.

Disney's Lakeshore Lodge has been taking shape along Bay Lake, and the upcoming resort is expected to bring a completely new lodging experience to Disney World next summer.

From waterfront Lake Houses to a lazy river and several restaurants, Disney is preparing a property that offers much more than somewhere to sleep after a busy theme park day.

Now, guests have another reason to get excited.

As of October 8, 2026, reservations have officially opened to the general public, meaning anyone interested in staying at Disney's newest resort can begin booking their vacation.

Disney Opens Lakeshore Lodge Reservations to Everyone

The countdown is officially underway for Disney's Lakeshore Lodge.

Disney has confirmed that the resort will open on July 1, 2027, with 967 rooms available across multiple accommodation categories.

The property will occupy a waterfront location between Disney's Wilderness Lodge and Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground.

Although reservations began earlier this week, not everyone could immediately book.

Disney Vacation Club Members received access on October 6, while Annual Passholders were able to make reservations beginning October 7.

The final booking window opened Thursday, October 8, allowing the general public to reserve accommodations.

Guests can now visit Walt Disney World's official website or contact Disney directly at (407) 934-7639.

Prices will depend on the room selected, travel dates, and available views.

Disney Is Creating More Than a Traditional Hotel

One of the most interesting features of Lakeshore Lodge is the number of accommodation options available.

For smaller parties, Disney will offer duo studios inspired by Encanto (2021), which can accommodate two guests.

Additional options include resort studios, deluxe studios, and one- or two-bedroom villas.

Larger families will have access to three-bedroom grand villas themed to Fantasia (1940), offering enough space for up to 12 people.

However, guests looking for something particularly unique may want to consider the Lake Houses.

These standalone A-frame accommodations will sit along Bay Lake and feature inspiration from Brother Bear (2003).

The Lake Houses will accommodate either five or eight guests, depending on the selected layout.

Their waterfront setting could make them one of the resort's most desirable lodging options.

A Lazy River, Fireworks Views, and New Restaurants Await

Disney is also giving guests plenty of ways to enjoy the resort without spending every waking moment inside a theme park.

The Wetlands, the property's outdoor recreation area, will feature several attractions for families.

Guests can swim at Lakeside Lagoon, which includes a zero-entry pool and spiral waterslide, or relax along Daydream River, the resort's lazy river.

Younger visitors will have access to Heron Shores and Otter Springs, two children's play areas inspired by Pocahontas(1995).

For those interested in a quieter swimming experience, Perspective Pond will provide a leisure pool with views of Magic Kingdom fireworks.

The resort will also feature five dining and lounge locations.

Moonglade will offer lakefront table-service dining, while Bay Lake Provisions will provide a quick-service marketplace.

Guests can also visit Paint Out Point Bar & Grill, Branch & Brush cocktail lounge, and Dandelion Terrace.

The latter will offer another opportunity to enjoy Magic Kingdom fireworks from the resort.

Together, these additions could make Lakeshore Lodge a destination where families spend just as much time enjoying their hotel as they do exploring Disney's theme parks.

Disney's New Resort Could Become a Popular Magic Kingdom Hotel

Another benefit of staying at Lakeshore Lodge will be its proximity to Magic Kingdom.

Disney plans to provide direct boat transportation between the resort and the theme park, making it easier for guests to travel across Bay Lake.

For families who prefer to return to their hotel during the afternoon, that transportation option could be particularly convenient.

Of course, the biggest news is that guests no longer have to wait for reservations to become available.

With the July 1, 2027, opening date approaching, Disney's newest resort is officially entering its final months before welcoming visitors.

Whether guests want to experience the waterfront Lake Houses, enjoy the lazy river, or simply stay somewhere new, Lakeshore Lodge will soon provide another option for their Walt Disney World vacations.

And for those already planning a trip next summer, reservations are officially open.
