Blaze Pizza at Disney Springs raised prices and removed eight pizzas from its menu.
Build your own went from $11.95 to $13.50.
One topping went from $9.95 to $11.50.
Two-topping went from $10.95 to $11.95.
Simple Pie stayed at $7.95, and that is the only good news in this entire article.
Some context.
Now do the thing nobody else does with these announcements: run the percentages.
One topping: up 15.6 percent.
Build your own: up 13 percent.
Two topping: up 9.1 percent.
Cheesy bread: up 15.2 percent.
Catch that? The cheapest actual pizza on the menu took the biggest percentage hit of anything on the board.
That is the order you place when you are watching the total. That is the budget pizza. And it ate the worst increase.
Here Is the One That Hurts
Old two topping: $10.95.
New one topping: $11.50.
You now pay 55 cents more for one topping than you used to pay for two.
Sit with that for a second.
The $7.95 Pie Is Now on an Island
Simple Pie survived. Mozzarella, Parmesan, red sauce. Still $7.95. Same oven, same roughly 180 seconds.
But watch what happened to the step above it.
Going from Simple Pie to one topping used to cost you two dollars. Now it costs $3.55.
That step got 78 percent more expensive. Adding one topping went from a shrug to an actual decision you have to make out loud at the counter.
Eight Gone
Dead: Art Lover, BBQ Chkn, Green Stripe, Hot Link, Meat Eater, Red Vine, Veg Out, White Top.
If one of those was your Disney Springs order, go rebuild it at the toppings line and make peace with it.
New lineup, mostly $13.50:
- Margherita, with red sauce, fresh mozzarella, cherry tomatoes and basil
- Carnivore, with pepperoni, Canadian ham, crumbled meatball and balsamic glaze
- Meatball Pie, with red sauce, mozzarella and ricotta
- Blazed BBQ, with BBQ sauce, roasted chicken, red onions, pickled jalapeños and ranch
- Four Cheese, with mozzarella, ovalini mozzarella, ricotta and Parmesan
- Herbivore, with spicy red sauce, mushrooms, roasted garlic, cherry tomatoes, banana peppers, and arugula
- Vegetarian Pizza at $16.58, on gluten-free cauliflower crust
- Vegan Pizza at $15.50, with vegan cheese and vegan chorizo
Old signatures were all $11.95. New ones are mostly $13.50. Same 13 percent, different shelf.
And the vegetarian is $16.58. Not $16.50. Eight cents. Somebody over there has a spreadsheet and a sense of humor.
To Be Fair, Blaze Has an Argument
Not going to pretend otherwise.
This started nationally. Blaze rolled out a “Chef Inspired” signature collection on May 29, 2024, replacing a lineup that had not moved since 2012, per Restaurant Dive.
Their marketing chief at the time, Christian Kuhn, said the old signatures were only 7 percent of sales and that their prices had drifted away from build-your-own pricing in a way that confused people.
He also said the Carnivore has double the pepperoni of the old Meat Eater, 50 percent more meatballs, plus ham.
So on that one pizza, you are getting more food. He picked that example himself, and nobody has published ingredient comparisons for the other seven.
Also worth saying: this is a chain decision landing at Disney Springs two years late, not Disney inventing a markup.
What Four People Pay Now
Four full build-your-owns plus cheesy bread to share.
Before: $56.05.
Now: $63.50.
Up about 13 percent, before anybody orders a drink and before tax.
Four Simple Pies? Still $31.80. Identical to before. That is the move if the number matters.
Gluten-Free Guests Get It Worst
Cauliflower crust is $4. Gluten-free dough is $3.
Build your own on cauliflower crust lands at $17.50. The Vegetarian Pizza is $16.58 because it comes on that crust.
If you have celiac, that is not an upgrade you chose. That is the price of eating, stacked on top of a menu that already went up 13 to 16 percent.
Everything Else Moved Too
Cheesy bread is $9.50 now. Pesto Garlic Cheesy Bread is gone. Simple Salad and Citrus Berry Salad got swapped for a $9.95 side salad and a $12.50 entree salad.
Desserts: Bookies $3.25, cinnamon bread $5.50, S'mores Pie $3.50. Applesauce $1.80, if applesauce is your thing.
And It Is Not Just Blaze This Month
Disney World has raised prices in October on character dining, buffets, annual passes, and food and drinks. Over at Magic Kingdom's Curtain Call Collectibles, basic embroidery went from $4.99 to $7.99 a line.
That is 60 percent. On embroidery.
Which makes Blaze's 13 percent look downright polite, and that is a sentence about October, not about Blaze.
Blaze is still the cheap option at Disney Springs. It is just not the relief it used to be, and a $7.95 cheese pizza is carrying the whole reputation now.
