Cedar Point Theme Park Employee Found “Covered in Blood” at Ohio Truck Stop

A late-night call about a bloodied person at a Milan, Ohio, travel stop ended in a quick all-clear and a good story, once police learned the “victim” was a Cedar Point haunted house worker still wearing costume makeup after a shift.

Shortly after 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 25, an off-duty law enforcement officer contacted Milan police about a person “covered in blood” getting into a vehicle at the 24-hour Love's Travel Stop on U.S. Route 250. The officer asked for help from on-duty police.

The scanner report soon reached the Cedar Point fan community on Reddit, and for good reason. Within less than two minutes, the off-duty officer canceled the request after learning the subject was a “determined to be Cedar Point haunted house employee after work.” The report closed with “No issues.”

“Oops, my mistake. You have a good evening!”

The employee turned out to be a scare actor from the Six Flags-owned theme park, still wearing fake blood from their costume.

Reddit commenters said mix-ups like this aren't unusual during the Halloween season at the Sandusky, Ohio, theme park. User u/bengenj recalled a similar run-in:

“Had a buddy pulled over by Mason Police and they were confused because he was a werewolf and hadn't completely removed his extra stuff.”
