Getting tickets to a popular Disney World special event can sometimes feel like another part of the vacation-planning competition. Guests often purchase Halloween party tickets months in advance, knowing that waiting too long could mean missing out completely.
Universal Orlando Resort is offering a similar opportunity to experience a theme park after regular operating hours, but visitors aren't facing quite the same pressure to book.

Universal Nights at Epic Universe promises smaller crowds, exclusive nighttime access, and special perks that aren't included with regular admission.
Yet despite those benefits, tickets remain available for both November events.
For a company that just opened one of Orlando's most anticipated theme parks in May 2025, that raises questions about how much guests are willing to pay for a premium nighttime experience.
Epic Universe Offers a Different Kind of Nighttime Visit
Universal Nights gives guests a chance to enjoy Epic Universe during a limited-capacity event that runs from 9 p.m. until midnight.
Ticket holders can enter the park beginning at 7 p.m., allowing additional time to explore before the exclusive portion begins.
The experience was originally scheduled for October 3, October 17, October 24, November 6, and November 20, 2026.
With the October dates now behind us, Universal has two remaining events on the calendar.
As of October 29, neither November date has sold out.

Tickets start at $179 per person, plus tax, and the event includes access to Epic Universe's five themed worlds.
Guests can enjoy character encounters, select unlimited snacks, Coca-Cola Freestyle refills, and the nighttime atmosphere throughout the park.
One of the included offerings is Universal Celestial Goodnight, which adds another entertainment option to the evening.
For visitors who have already experienced the park during busy daytime hours, the chance to explore with fewer people could be appealing.
However, it isn't a cheap experience.
A Family Could Spend More Than $700 for One Evening
At a starting price of $179 per person, a family of four with four paying guests would spend $716 before taxes.
That's a substantial amount of money for an event offering three hours of exclusive after-hours access, even with the earlier 7 p.m. entry time.
The price becomes even more significant when families consider everything else involved in an Orlando vacation.
Hotel accommodations, transportation, food, souvenirs, and regular park admission can already make a trip expensive.

Universal Nights provides a different experience, but it doesn't necessarily replace everything guests can enjoy during a normal operating day.
And while the event promises limited attendance, that doesn't mean every ride will have little or no wait.
Families must decide whether the possibility of shorter lines and a more relaxed atmosphere justifies spending hundreds of dollars more.
Disney's Halloween and Christmas Parties Create More Urgency
Disney World has demonstrated that guests are willing to pay premium prices for nighttime experiences.
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party regularly attracts large crowds, and all scheduled dates for the 2026 event sold out.
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party also draws strong interest, with certain dates selling out as families plan their holiday vacations.
Disney's separately ticketed After Hours events can experience similar demand.

However, Disney has an advantage that Universal Nights hasn't yet developed: years of established traditions.
Guests know what to expect from Disney's seasonal parties, including special parades, nighttime spectaculars, character appearances, and holiday entertainment.
Some families return year after year specifically for those experiences.
Universal Nights, on the other hand, is still relatively new. Its biggest selling point is the opportunity to enjoy Epic Universe with a smaller crowd rather than a full seasonal celebration.
That doesn't make Universal's event less enjoyable, but it may help explain why guests aren't rushing to purchase tickets in the same way.
Universal Still Has Time to Build Its Audience
It's important not to mistake available tickets for a failed event.
Universal Nights already experienced a sellout on October 17, demonstrating that the experience can attract strong interest.
The company also hasn't released detailed attendance numbers, making it impossible to determine how many tickets remain for either November date.
Still, the situation presents an interesting opportunity for Universal.
Epic Universe features incredibly detailed environments, from Dark Universe and SUPER NINTENDO WORLD to Celestial Park and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic.

Experiencing those locations after dark with fewer guests could become a major attraction in its own right.
Universal could also build on the event by introducing additional entertainment or exclusive experiences in the future.
For now, the November 6 and November 20 events remain options for guests who want to experience Epic Universe differently.
Disney World may have established the stronger reputation for sold-out nighttime celebrations, but Universal is still building its own tradition.
And for guests who haven't made their plans yet, the fact that tickets remain available might actually be the best part.
