Disney Cruise Line Brings Its Newest Ship to Land in Shanghai

Okay, cruise fans, this one is super cool. Disney Cruise Line just opened a brand-new pop-up experience in Shanghai, and it lets you get a sneak peek at the Disney Adventure without stepping foot on a ship.

The limited-time Disney Adventure pop-up is now open at Disneytown in Shanghai Disney Resort. And if you’re anywhere near Shanghai over the next couple of months, you’re going to want to check it out.

Wait, What’s the Disney Adventure?

Quick catch-up if you haven’t been following along. The Disney Adventure is a pretty big deal because it’s Disney Cruise Line’s first ship to homeport in Asia. It sails out of Singapore, and it’s bringing Disney cruising to a whole new part of the world.

And it’s about to add its very first port of call, Langkawi, Malaysia. So yeah, things are getting exciting over there.

So What’s at the Pop-Up?

The pop-up has spaces inspired by the ship’s seven themed areas. Basically, it’s like a mini version of the ship’s vibe, with stories from Disney, Pixar, and Marvel coming to life through interactive activities, photo spots, and more.

So whether you’re a Marvel fan, a Pixar fan, or just love classic Disney, there’s something in there for you.

The Photo Spots Are So Cute

Here’s what you’ll definitely want pictures of. There’s a small replica of the Disney Adventure’s bow, and Disney characters are peeking out of the little portholes. Seriously adorable.

There’s also a backdrop that looks like the ship’s deck, so you can pretend you’re already sailing. Honestly, this is peak Instagram material.

When Can You Go?

The pop-up is open every day from 11:00 AM to 6:30 PM, but the last entry is at 6:00 PM. So don’t show up at 6:15 thinking you can sneak in.

It’s running through January 15, 2027, which means you’ve got a couple of months. But it’s limited-time, so don’t put it off too long.

The Big Opening Day

Disney rolled out the red carpet for this one. Sarah Fox, Vice President and Regional General Manager of Disney Cruise Line, came to Shanghai Disney Resort for the grand opening.

Andrew Bolstein, President and General Manager of Shanghai Disney Resort, also shared some photos and details about the pop-up. He said it will give “guests and fans in Shanghai a preview of what awaits aboard the Disney Adventure, introducing them to another side of Disney storytelling and giving even more reasons to visit the resort.”

He also had some sweet words for the cruise team, saying, “Our colleagues at Disney Cruise Line have been wonderful partners in bringing this special experience to life, and we couldn’t be happier that this exhibition is coming to Disneytown!”

Why This Is Actually Smart

Think about it. Shanghai Disney Resort is packed with Disney fans every single day. A lot of them might never have thought about going on a Disney cruise before. Now they can walk into a pop-up, see what the ship is all about, and maybe start dreaming about booking a trip.

It’s basically the cutest marketing move ever. And honestly, we’re not mad about it.

Tips Before You Go

Get there before 6:00 PM for last entry. Bring your camera, because the bow with the characters in the portholes is a must. Make a whole afternoon of it by exploring the rest of Disneytown’s shopping and food. And if you’ve been on the fence about a Disney cruise in Asia, this is a great way to see if it’s for you.

Setting Sail, Sort Of

Not everyone can hop on a cruise ship tomorrow, but this pop-up is the next best thing. It’s fun, it’s interactive, and it gives fans in Shanghai a little taste of what life is like on the Disney Adventure.

So, would you check out the pop-up, or are you ready to just book the cruise already?
