A Special Disney Princess Event Begins

For some people, today is just August 23rd. For anyone who loves Disney, plucky heroines, or flouncy dresses, it’s the start of World Princess Week! This week is part of Disney’s Ultimate Princess Celebration, an event that purportedly begins with a “a 7-day celebration of the Disney Princesses, Frozen Queens and the courage & kindness they bring to the world”. Each day honors a different princess, and first up is Princess Tiana, the star of “Princess and the Frog” and the protagonist in the upcoming Magic Kingdom ride. Even though each princess only gets one day of recognition this week, the special features that come with the celebration will last much longer, and events like the Disney Princess Half Marathon will start sign-ups!

Disney resorts all over the world are taking part in this week-long celebration. In Walt Disney World, a special Tiana-themed playground has been unveiled until October, Disney Springs is offering a costume day, and Movies Under the Stars will feature princess movies. Disneyland is bringing back their Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures on August 26th, and will be offering lots of new merchandise in the Downtown Disney District. The Hong Kong, Paris, and Hawaii resorts will also be taking part, with new music, photo opportunities, and food!

While this event is bound to involve lots of promotional offerings, princess-focused merchandise collections, and unique desserts, it’s also the ideal time to visit Disney if you or your loved ones enjoy princess interactions. If you’re unable to visit in person, Disney will also be airing a music special called “Disney Princess Remixed – An Ultimate Princess Celebration,” on Friday, Aug. 27 at 7:30 p.m. This special promises to be fun and unexpected in its adaptations of the classic princess music!

Whether you’re interested in the food, the music, or the princesses themselves, this is an event to follow and enjoy!
