The Liberty Square Riverboat, also known as the Liberty Belle, has recently received an exciting update with extended operating hours. As part of the adjustments made by the Walt Disney World Resort, guests can now enjoy an extra hour aboard this beloved attraction. The riverboat now operates daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., a notable change from its previous start time of 11 a.m. This extension allows visitors more opportunities to experience the charming ride on the Rivers of America.

Despite the extension, the Liberty Belle has a set timeline for its operations as it is scheduled for its last day on July 6, 2025. This announcement has stirred a range of emotions among Disney enthusiasts, as they are encouraged to make the most of their time with the attraction before it closes for good.

The Liberty Belle is not the only element on the move within Magic Kingdom. As part of an expansive overhaul, Disney is working on the Piston Peak project, which will introduce a series of new attractions, particularly in Frontierland. This new land draws inspiration from the Pixar Cars franchise and promises to feature a variety of interactive experiences that will engage guests of all ages.

One of the most highly anticipated components of the Piston Peak project is an outdoor thrill ride resembling Disneyland’s popular Radiator Springs Racers. While details on other planned attractions remain under wraps, the changes herald a significant transformation of the existing landscape at Magic Kingdom. Visitors may encounter construction walls in various areas as the project unfolds, although the exact timeline for completion is still uncertain.

Wider Theme Park Developments

Magic Kingdom is not the only Disney park to undergo significant transformations. Across Walt Disney World, visitors have noticed several other closures and projects in progress. For instance, the Muppets Courtyard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios recently closed, paving the way for the introduction of a new land dubbed Monstropolis, inspired by the beloved Pixar film Monsters Inc. This area is expected to feature exciting new locations and attractions, including a suspended roller coaster.

In Disney’s Animal Kingdom, similar changes are afoot with the closure of DinoLand U.S.A. This prehistoric-themed area is poised to be replaced by an entirely new land inspired by the rich cultures of South America, bringing fresh experiences based on movies like Encanto and Indiana Jones.

As Disney continues to innovate and update its parks, fans can anticipate a thrilling array of attractions inspired by some of their favorite films, promising to create even more magical moments for all who walk through the gates. The future of Disney parks is bright, characterized by both fervent nostalgia and thrilling new adventures that beckon guests to explore the enchanting worlds they’ve come to love.
