When Jacky Jhaj, a 39-year-old British man, arranged a private wedding ceremony inside Disneyland Paris, it wasn’t the magical day he intended. Instead, it erupted into a scandal that caught the attention of authorities and highlighted serious legal and ethical violations.
Reports indicated that Jhaj had organized a fake wedding where a nine-year-old girl played the role of the bride. After Disneyland staff grew suspicious and alerted security, the event was promptly halted, leading to the arrest of Jhaj and several others involved.
Prior to this incident, Jhaj had a troubling history. He was listed on the UK sex offender registry due to earlier convictions involving sexual activities with underage girls in 2016. His prior experiences with the law raised eyebrows and were likely a significant factor in the seriousness of the charges he now faces. Jhaj had also allegedly previously orchestrated other fake events involving minors.
The extravagant cost of this fictional wedding is estimated at around £110,000 or close to $150,000 USD.

The Disneyland Paris Resort opened in 1992. Originally, the resort only featured one theme park, Disneyland Park. This is where classic rides and attractions can be found, like Pirates of the Caribbean and “It’s a Small World,” as well as others such as Peter Pan’s Flight.
In 2002, the resort’s second park, Walt Disney Studios, officially opened. Work is underway to transform this theme park. Once complete, Walt Disney Studios will be known as Disney Adventure World. The rebranded theme park will also receive some notable upgrades when it comes to rides and attractions. For more information, click here.
