Amazon MGM may have found its next James Bond.
With Daniel Craig's five-film tenure as 007 now complete, a new actor is set to take up the mantle. Craig became the sixth actor to officially portray 007 in the film series, following Sean Connery, Roger Moore, George Lazenby, Timothy Dalton, and Pierce Brosnan. His five-film run ended with No Time to Die (2021).

Who Is the Next James Bond?
Now, attention is turning toward who could become the seventh.
Several major names have been linked to the role over the past year, including Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Idris Elba, Henry Cavill, Austin Butler, and Tom Holland. However, previous reports have suggested that the studio is looking for a relatively unknown British male actor in his late 20s or early 30s.
However, Slow Horses star Jack Lowden just entered the conversation.

English TV presenter, producer, and novelist Richard Osman claims he was told “for definite” who the new Bond is, naming Lowden, 36, as the actor he has heard is being “strongly considered.”
Speaking on his The Rest Is Entertainment podcast (via Metro), Osman revealed: “The name I’ve heard is Jack Lowden.”
Lowden's experience playing an MI5 operative in Slow Horses would make him a particularly intriguing choice for 007. The actor has also appeared in Christopher Nolan's Dunkirk (2017) and Netflix's Calibre (2018).

However, there is no confirmation that Lowden has been cast. In fact, Osman explicitly stressed that he has not been told the actor has secured the role. “It is definitively not a ‘he's definitely got it' thing,” he said, adding. “He is definitely being strongly considered. I think he'd be amazing.”
Even if Lowden isn't being considered, he's a perfect successor to Craig.
Nevertheless, the timing of the report is notable. Producer Amy Pascal recently said the new Bond could potentially be revealed by the end of this year. “I would say the end of the year is a good bet,” she told Deadline, adding that the new iteration of Bond has “got to be something really different that is stirring and exciting and different.”.
The untitled 007 reboot is being directed by Denis Villeneuve (Dune: Part Two) and written by Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders).
