Amazon MGM Studios may still be searching for the next big-screen James Bond, but the franchise has already found its youngest incarnation in decades.
With Amazon MGM currently developing a full cinematic reboot of the 007 series under director Denis Villeneuve and writer Steven Knight, speculation over who will inherit the tuxedo has dominated Bond conversations throughout 2026.
But while fans wait for the next theatrical Bond, another version of the character is preparing to make his debut.

The Youngest James Bond Ever
Earlier this year, Big Finish Productions and Ian Fleming Publications announced Young Bond: SilverFin, a new audio adaptation of Charlie Higson's hugely popular 2005 novel that reimagined Bond as a teenager attending Eton College long before his MI6 career began.
In June, Collider confirmed that British actor Isaac Rouse had been cast as the young spy.
Although Rouse himself is 24 years old, he will portray Bond during his teenage years, making him one of the youngest versions of the character ever depicted.

For comparison, Patrick Gibson's Bond in 007 First Light (2026) is 26 years old, while George Lazenby remains the youngest official film Bond, having been 28 when production began on On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969).
Rouse is best known for playing Ollie Chadwyck-Healey in The Crown Season 6 and Charlie Bucket in Sam Mendes' stage adaptation of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Writer and director Barnaby Edwards said the search for Bond involved more than 500 auditions before narrowing the field to just 12 finalists.
“When you're looking for someone to portray the icon that is Bond, you've got to get it right,” he explained. “Isaac was the best of the best.”
Based on Higson's first novel, Young Bond: SilverFin Part 1 follows James during his school years as he uncovers a sinister conspiracy connected to mysterious experiments taking place near Loch Silverfin.
The production will span 16 half-hour episodes across two box sets and will be available in October. It's now available for pre-order.
