Amazon MGM Studios hasn't cast the next cinematic James Bond yet, but the franchise is already embracing a younger version of 007 across two new projects.
Last month, IO Interactive launched 007 First Light, an original Bond origin story starring Patrick Gibson as a 26-year-old recruit who has yet to earn his “licence to kill.”
The game has reportedly sold nearly 3 million copies in its first two weeks and is already expected to become a larger series. Now, another young Bond has officially arrived.

A New James Bond Has Been Cast
According to Collider, Isaac Rouse has been cast as the lead in Young Bond: SilverFin, a new audio drama adaptation of Charlie Higson's first Young Bond novel.
The story follows Bond during his teenage years at Eton, years before his MI6 career begins.
Rouse, 24, is known for his role as Ollie Chadwyck-Healey in The Crown Season 6 and for playing Charlie Bucket in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory on stage. More than 500 actors applied for the role, with only 12 reaching the final audition stage, the outlet reports.
The series will adapt SilverFin across 16 half-hour episodes split into two box sets, bringing Higson's hugely popular Young Bond novels to life in dramatic form for the first time.

The timing is notable, as Amazon MGM Studios is currently developing its next Bond film with Denis Villeneuve (Dune: Part Two) directing and Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders) writing.
While no actor has been cast, industry reports have repeatedly suggested the studio is interested in finding a younger performer to lead the next era of the franchise.
Whether those reports prove accurate remains to be seen. However, with Patrick Gibson leading 007 First Light and Isaac Rouse now fronting Young Bond: SilverFin, two of Bond's most prominent current projects are already focused on younger versions of the character.
That may not tell us who the next film Bond will be, but it could offer an indication of where the franchise is heading.
Young Bond: SilverFin premieres in October 2026.
