The future of James Bond is beginning to take shape.
Amazon MGM Studios is currently developing the next James Bond film, which will launch a brand-new era for the iconic spy franchise.
While details remain tightly under wraps, the project is being directed by Denis Villeneuve (Dune), written by Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders), and produced by David Heyman and Amy Pascal.
The film will be separate from Daniel Craig's run as 007 and will introduce a new actor as James Bond. Earlier this month, reports confirmed that casting director Nina Gold had officially begun the search for the next Bond.
While fans continue to speculate about who will inherit the role on the big screen, another actor has now been confirmed to play 007 in a different project.
New James Bond Actor Revealed
According to Collider, Isaac Rouse has been cast as James Bond in Young Bond: SilverFin, a new audio drama adaptation of Charlie Higson's first Young Bond novel. The series explores Bond's teenage years before his recruitment into MI6.
Rouse is known for playing Ollie Chadwyck-Healey in The Crown Season 6 and for portraying Charlie Bucket in Sam Mendes' stage production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
The outlet reports that more than 500 actors applied for the role, with 12 finalists ultimately auditioning. Writer-director Barnaby Edwards praised the final choice, saying, “Nobody does it better.”
Young Bond: SilverFin will adapt Higson's novel across 16 half-hour episodes released in two box sets. Per YoungBond.com, the official synopsis for the SilverFin novel reads:
“There’s something in the water at Loch Silverfin. Something deadly. Something that must be kept secret… It’s James Bond’s first day at Eton, and he’s already met his first enemy. This is the start of an adventure that will take him from the school playing fields to the remote shores of Loch Silverfin and a terrifying discovery that threatens to unleash a new breed of warfare.”
James Bond Is Evolving Across Media
The announcement comes during a busy period for the franchise.
Alongside the next film, IO Interactive recently launched 007 First Light, an original Bond origin story starring Patrick Gibson (Dexter: Original Sin) as a young version of the legendary spy.
The game introduces its own take on Bond's early years and has already generated significant attention among fans eager to see where the franchise heads next.
The first episodes of Young Bond: SilverFin arrive in October 2026.
