These days, more and more Disney customers are finding that the Disney Parks and Disney Resorts’ high prices do not match Disney Guests’ poor experiences. However, Insider writer Sarah Gilliland has revealed that at least one Disney experience in Florida is actually worth its high price!

Gilliland recently tried Amorette’s Patisserie Cake Decorating Experience, and found the big bill for the event to be worth its expense.

This popular cake decorating class allows Disney Springs visitors to make an eye-catching Mickey Mouse-inspired dome-shaped cake that features Mickey’s iconic color scheme.

Two people can take the class together (which occurs at 9:15 am, before the patisseries shop is open to regular customers), and for $50 the second person attending can decorate their own cake and take it home to eat instead of sharing one cake with their companion.

According to Gilliland, “the class is limited to 14 people, which allows the pastry artist to walk around and give one-on-one instructions to each group. Our instructor, Reuben, was so encouraging and provided helpful tips for making our cakes perfect.”

The class lasts for 90 minutes, i.e. an hour and a half, and the Mickey dome cake is the only option for the course. Amorette’s Patisserie actually makes many other Disney character variations of this iconic domed cake, but for some reason, Mickey is all that this course’s participants can get!

Regular customers can buy the other versions of the Disney dome cakes for $70 by placing an order ahead of time.

According to Gilliland, “Amorette’s pastry artists are able to create cakes with such vivid colors because they glaze them several times — we glazed our cake a total of three times.”

The rest of the class involved painted Mickey’s features and accessories in between layers of glaze. Then, assembly was the last step.

“We were having so much fun that the 90 minutes flew by, and we were very proud of our final product,” the veteran Disney visitor wrote in their review.

However, it was not just the cake-decorating experience that won the Disney fan over completely. Apparently, the “bottomless drinks” (i.e. mimosas) also worked in the Amorette Patisserie’s favor!

With so many negative reviews and complaints coming from Disney Guests in recent months after visiting the Disney Parks at Walt Disney World Resort, it’s nice to hear some positive news coming out of Disney Springs! Have you paid $200 for this cake-decorating class and tried it yet?
