Guests visiting the Walt Disney World Resort this summer are already excited after hearing the news that traditional Disney character meet and greet experiences will be returning to domestic Disney theme parks. Now, Disney has made the announcement that a fan-favorite character meet and greet experience will be returning this summer. If you are visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom this summer, keep an eye out for Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse as they return to greet Guests at the park.
The Disney Parks Blog just announced a couple of updates Guests can expect at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in the upcoming summer months, including the return of Mickey and Minnie to Adventurers Outpost on Discovery Island in the center of the theme park. This Disney character meet and greet experience has been quite popular over the years as Guests visiting the Disney Park love seeing Mickey and Minnie all dressed up in their adorable safari gear.
In the past, Mickey and Minnie have greeted Guests at Adventurers Outpost during the park’s regular operating hours, making this meet and greet an easy stop on your way in or out of the theme park as you would need to walk though Discovery Island either way. The meet and greet was previously included as a FastPass+ option as well, so it is likely that we will see it become part of the Disney Genie/Lightning Lane lineup when this location reopens.
Seeing Mickey and Minnie in their safari outfits has been a classic Disney experience since the park opened in 1998. While the two have moved from Camp Minnie Mickey (now Pandora: World of Avatar) to Discovery Island, they have kept their iconic Animal Kingdom looks over the years, and we are excited to see them again soon!
Disney has not yet announced the official date when the two characters will be back at Adventurers Outpost, however, we will keep you updated here on Disney Fanatic as we learn more.
