A clear signal has once again been sent to the Walt Disney Company.
As 2025 unfolds at Walt Disney World Resort, nighttime at Magic Kingdom Park continues to offer something special. Disney After Hours has returned, giving guests the opportunity to explore the park after dark with lower crowds and plenty of time to enjoy fan-favorite attractions.
The limited-capacity event runs on select nights from January 6 through May 19, 2025. Guests can enter as early as 7 p.m., with official event hours from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Ticket prices range between $175 and $185 (plus tax), depending on the date. Attractions like TRON Lightcycle / Run are available with standby access, and nighttime shows provide a memorable end to the evening.
While the event still has a few nights to go, several dates have already come and gone—including January 6, 13, 20, and 27; February 3, 10, 17, and 24; March 3, 17, 24, and 31; and April 7 and 28. Both March 31 and April 7 sold out in advance, with guests eager to take advantage of extra hours and lighter crowds.
Now, another event date has hit capacity. According to WDWMagic, the upcoming May 5 event has officially sold out.
Another night of Disney After Hours at Magic Kingdom has sold out, with the May 5, 2025 event now fully booked,” the outlet reported. “This leaves just two After Hours dates still available for Magic Kingdom this spring: May 12 and May 19.”
As After Hours continues to draw interest, Walt Disney World has made some operational updates in early 2025. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad has been temporarily closed for refurbishment. Meanwhile, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is currently not listed among attractions offered during the event.
In the background, Disney is also working to appeal to guests looking for value. Recent marketing campaigns and special offers aim to help families make the most of their vacation while keeping affordability in mind.
Meanwhile, change is on the horizon in the local theme park scene. Universal Orlando Resort is preparing to open its new Epic Universe theme park in less than a month, marking a major expansion in Central Florida’s entertainment offerings.
But with all the enhancements and upcharges now available at Disney Parks, some guests are starting to ask questions. Systems like Lightning Lane Multi Pass, Single Pass, and Premier Pass are designed to streamline access—but can also add to the cost of a trip. Premier Passes for Magic Kingdom can reach $449 during busy seasons, and regularly sell out.
Has planning a Disney vacation become too complicated—or just more customizable?
Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Experiences, responded to guest concerns in a recent statement. “The number-one thing we hear from the millions of guests who visit our parks each year is how much a Disney vacation means to them, and we intentionally offer a wide variety of ticket, hotel, and dining options to welcome as many families as possible, whatever their budget,” D’Amaro said in a press release. “We also know that, in inflationary times, it’s especially important to give families ways to save on their visits.”
Disney CEO Bob Iger also weighed in, noting that guest satisfaction scores remain “very high” even as the company continues to evaluate pricing and offerings. He added that the costs of a Disney experience compare to other entertainment like sporting events and concerts.
As Magic Kingdom’s After Hours events continue to sell out, one thing is clear: these late-night offerings are still connecting with guests looking for something different.
