What’s Not to Love?

If you’re among the tens of millions of guests who visit The Walt Disney Company’s theme park resorts every year, you likely have your favorite rides, favorite attractions, favorite shows, favorite characters, and favorite memories of time spent in the parks. And there are likely any number of reasons that you find yourself beginning to plan your next visit only days after your return home.

Well, it’s that way for many of us, anyway. After all, what’s not to love about a trip to a Disney Park?

There’s not time or blank space on a webpage enough to list all of the things we love about Disney and its theme park resorts around the world–Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, the Walt Disney World Resort in Central Florida, Tokyo Disney Resort, Disneyland Paris, Hong Kong Disneyland, and Shanghai Disney Resort–but one undeniable element of the Disney Parks experience is the magic of realizing that there truly is something for everyone.

Whether you’re two years old or 102 years old, you’ll find something that makes the magic of Disney real for you inside a Disney theme park. And for diehard fans, the sky really is the limit when you visit a Disney park. Whether you’re a Disney Princess fan, a fan of all things Pixar, or a Marvel fan who just can’t get enough of that superhero energy, you’re in good and magical hands at a Disney park.

The Fandom Is Strong With This One

That’s especially true for Star Wars fans, as many Disney Parks resorts offer a number of Star Wars-themed experiences and attractions that will have you stepping into the galaxy far, far away in no time at all.

Following Disney’s acquisition of Star Wars and Lucasfilm in 2012, Disney’s theme park resorts began the work of adding the magic of the world of George Lucas to their theme parks. From encounters with fan-favorite Star Wars characters to an exciting jaunt to the planet of Batuu at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Resort and Disney World, Star Wars fans of all ages will find their place–and a piece of that Disney magic–at Disney’s theme parks.

One Star Wars-themed Disney Parks attraction, however, was in place even before Disney owned Lucasfilm: Star Tours: The Adventure Continues.

Star Tours: The Adventure Continues

The first Star Tours attraction opened at Disneyland Resort in 1987, just four years after the box office debut of Return of the Jedi (1983). Then, in 1989, when Disney’s Hollywood Studios (then called Disney-MGM Studios) opened at Disney World, Star Tours made its galactic debut.

At the time, there were no Galaxy’s Edge locations, so Disney World’s Star Tours attraction was placed in the Echo Lake area of the theme park, where it remains to this day.

At Star Tours, guests are invited to “make the jump to hyperspace on a thrilling 3D space flight to legendary destinations from the Star Wars saga,” and you don’t have to be a Star Wars junkie to love it as much as they do!

The experience features digital 3D video, flight simulation, audio-animatronic Star Wars characters, and special effects and music that put fans (and non-fans) in the middle of the Star Wars saga for an “unforgettable intergalactic adventure.”

A New Adventure is Coming!

Disney Parks has just announced that a brand-new experience is coming to Star Tours at Disney World, Disneyland Resort, and Disneyland Paris, beginning April 5.

The upgraded Star Tours experience will include new adventures and characters from the worlds inside the hit Disney+ series Ahsoka, Andor, and The Mandalorian.

According to Disney Parks, guests will soon “have an opportunity to experience one of more than 250 storyline variations aboard the attraction, including a visit to the planet Peridea from the Ahsoka series.”

The brand-new adventures begin April 5 at Disney World, Disneyland Resort, and Disneyland Paris!
