Orlando Magazine just shared this year’s recipients of their annual awards program and a number of Walt Disney World restaurants made the cut! Each year, Orlando Magazine awards local restaurants based on 20 picks from their food editor and readers’ choice awards in 44 additional categories. This year, Citricos, located at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, is the recipient of the Editor’s Choice Award for Best Classic Hotel Restaurant.
Citricos has always been a popular spot for dinner and drinks at Walt Disney World’s flagship resort, and the restaurant recently reopened with a refreshing new look inspired by ‘Mary Poppins Returns.’ As a Disney signature dining experience, Guests have come to know and expect a high standard of quality from Citricos, and where the restaurant received this Editor’s Choice award we are pleased to report that this high level of food and service has continued.
The redesigned menu is created by Chef Andres Mendoza, who has shifted the restaurant’s focus to fresh Florida eats with Mediterranean influences through a variety of entrees featuring steak, seafood, and more. Pastry Chef Kristine Farmer has added some beautiful additions to Citricos’ dessert menu including an indulgent chocolate torte, as well.
Citricos is located on the top floor of the main building of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, making it an easy stroll over from the monorail station if you are coming from the Magic Kingdom or Transportation and Ticket Center, and any resort room if you happen to be staying on property. It is a signature restaurant, so dining at Citricos does come with a dress code and is a more upscale experience, but still suitable for the whole family if you are looking for a splurge-worthy night out while vacationing at the Walt Disney World Resort.
We extend our congratulations for this award to the entire Citricos team, and will be back soon with more news of Orlando Magazine award recipients at Walt Disney World restaurants.
